I had to pay extra for my GE card later. At the time of my interview, I got the sticker, but I now have a new and sticker less passport.
Are they still giving out the stickers and if so, should I try to stop by a GE office and try to get my new passport stickered? The stickers weren't uniformly issued either. ORD demanded to see the sticker - at the customs exit, where the pax already had a GE printout in hand. Someone is telling these line monitors that the card is required, and ultimately, CBP is responsible. |

The answer to the second question is yes, both countries do.
The UK doesn't offer even its own citizens an expedited immigration program based on signing up for a special border crossing program. The Netherlands offers some such program, Privium. There are Privium cards that have been issued, although I don't know the current status of those cards. Both the UK and the Netherlands have offered me, a U.S. citizen , expedited immigration program access as a U.S. citizen. It comes for a fee. If we want expedited immigration we have to sign up for their program? No reciprocity? |

If the card is required, then it should be issued automatically. Otherwise, GE is useless for its primary purpose: access to the GE kiosks.

To go through GE, I've had airport line contractors ask me for the card.

So, just to be clear, our GE is not accepted in any other country?

When I renewed my passport last year the stickers were long gone. |
It's not about reciprocity here. It's about the fact non-US Global Entry users have paid and signed up and now are being told they can't use it without a card, which they cannot even get. If they want to require the card, that's fine, just offer it to everyone then. It's absurd to sign people up and take money then disallow use of GE.

But it's not the US/DHS/CBP demanding the card. Where the card has been an issue on arrival at a US airport of entry, it's been airport contractors making the card an issue.

Yes but surely DHS can manage to police their own line staff, regardless of who employs them. CBP folks w/ badges can tell contractors to shut it down IMMEDIATELY. For whatever reason they've chosen to ignore the presence of these jobsworth contractors.
If the contractors worked for CBP rather than for the airport, that ought to make a difference. |
I never even knew cards were issued until today. I just renewed my GE membership a few weeks ago and a card showed up today in the mail with my photo from my APAC card on it. I originally was given a sticker for the passport and when I renewed my passport I didn't receive another sticker. I have never been asked for a card or to see the sticker and I use GE about 10-12 times a year.

I've never been asked for a GE card. At YYZ, I've been asked for the sticker or my NEXUS card. Otherwise, I've never seen anyone ask for the GE card. Indeed, NEXUS, FAST and SENTRI members don't even have the GE card - though NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST members get cards that look just like GE.

What about those of us that have a NEXUS card? We can use the GE kiosks, but do they know that?

Just drop by any GE office with your passport and ask for the sticker.

The stickers have been phased out of use and are no longer provided by the offices.
As one of the early adopters of GE, there was no card at the start of the program, so requiring it is stupid and not in line with the program rules. |
