I actually applied for GE a couple of months ago. Took 10 days to get conditional approval, 1 week to get an interview and another week to get my card in the mail. So a total of about 24 days from application to having a card in my hand!

Applied for Nexus after that approval and have been waiting 5 weeks. Must be the Canadian side that is slow.

Based on my recent experience, you should be getting a response pretty soon. Had my interview today, which was a quick and pleasant experience.

American.

I don't think citizenship has to do with it. All applicants have to go though the CBP and CBSA vetting processes.

Right now, it's the perfect storm. The first applicants are renewing, CBP is under sequestration and people are signing up to get Precheck. Also, CBSA only has to vet Nexus applicants. CBP has to vet Nexus and Global Entry applicants.

I called cbp today and was told nexus takes longer to approve because of Canada. They are behind and it could take anywhere from 7-10 weeks. Sometimes more.

Oh well, I am waiting too.

9th week

I helped my Canadian friend applied for a Nexus Card on May 8, 2013 and they received the payment on May 10, 2013. We applied online and we've been wait now 9 weeks is this a normal time? Do you think there is a problem? I applied for a Nexus about 3 years ago and I don't think it took this long. But I'm from the u.s. Can you give me some information on the time line please! Thanks
