I've been following this thread ever since I applied for my Nexus pass. This morning I received Conditional approval. Just wanted to share my timeline for those who are waiting to hear back :)
Online application submitted: December 2 Conditional approval: December 13 Interview scheduled: July 16, 2015 in SEA. Checked back 10 mins later and got June 1, 2015. Edit: Kept checking the past few days and eventually scored interviews for March 10 for myself, and April 1 for my fiancee (SEA center). Will continue to keep checking for cancellations. |
Seems like the process has been sped up compared to earlier this year!
Online application submitted: December 3 Conditional approval: December 13 Interview scheduled: May 20, 2015 at YVR ... will keep checking online until I'm home then try the "go in and wait for a no-show" approach Edit: already rescheduled for Dec 29th @ Blaine location (can always add iris scan as a separate drop-in) - not ideal, but way better! |

Was yours a renewal or initial application?

Seems like they've really sped up the process!
Initial application - Dec 11 Conditional approval - Dec 16 Interview - Dec 29 |
They are really improving...
My girlfriend Applied - 12/14 Conditional approval - 12/16. Appointment - 12/18 Myself Applied - 12/9 Approval - 12/17 Appointment - 12/18 |
Applied online 12/10 got conditional approval on 12/12. Set up an interview at EWR for 12/16. The office is in kind of a weird spot behind the glass wall where everyone is waiting to meet arriving passengers in terminal B. The "interview" was all of 5 minutes which consisted mostly of the officer explaining the program to me. Got the e-mail saying I was approved while waiting to pay for my parking. Totally painless process start to finish I should have done this sooner.

Applied: 11/18
Approved: 12/9 Interview: 12/29, Champlain, NY. I live in NYC area and was hoping I could get in during a late Jan trip to Seattle/Whistler, but they're booked up for months so I'll make the trek upstate over Xmas break. Hopefully I can add the precheck onto my Seattle flight reservation! |
Applied: 12/17/2014
Approved: 12/23/2013 Interview: 12/24/2014, Champlain, NY Nothing till march at YUL, and champlain had tomorrow, so I jumped. Accepted: 12/24/2014. I got to the interview an hour early and they took me right away. Scanned fingerprints, picture and such, and then on my way back to Canada did the Iris scan. All in all the easiest experience of my life. |
Applied online December 3, 2014
Conditional approval Dec 18 First interview available YUL March 10, 2015 but I kept checking back -- snatched a cancellation for December 23, 2014 at YUL Received card Dec 30, 2014 Also got there about an hour early but they were able to take me within 15 minutes. Overall the interview process took me 1.5 hours because there was some waiting in between the Canadian and US officers. Both were super nice. The interview itself was really more of an info session to the kiosks and how to use the system. The only questions asked were from the US officer on why I would want to join the program, and some supplementary info to my application. |
My Nexus Timeline
Applied on Oct. 14, 2014
Conditional Approval on Nov. 22 Immediately Booked interview for first available slot at YYZ for Dec. 30 Interview on Dec. 30 Card arrived on Jan. 8, 2015 |
My wife and son applied fresh into NEXUS on Monday and were conditionally approved today (Wednesday).
My upgrade from Global Entry was also submitted on Monday and no action yet (I suspect it will take some time). 2 days is pretty impressive for 2 governments to review a person and get info back, even if they don't travel much. Dan Edit: I got my conditional approval today (Thursday). Very fast turnaround at the moment! |
Very impressive. I'm not that lucky. I sent paper forms to the Montreal office last week (probably a big mistake, I know) and nothing on my credit card yet...

Applied online on Jan 6, 2015
Conditionally approved on Jan 12, 2015 Interview on Jan 20, 2015 in YOW Card received on Jan 28 |
