List of Global Entry Enrollment Centers

Post your walk-in experiences in the Wiki. If you cannot update the Wiki, then please post in the thread, and someone will paste your data point. Please format it as such under the enrollment center where you attempted to walk-in:

Yes/No [If Yes, put how long you waited in brackets] (Date and time attempted)

If someone in your family had an appointment at that time, please note that, too.

Examples:
Yes [45m] (4/2/2016 10am w/ a family member who had an appointment)
Yes [2h] (4/18/2016 3pm)
No (5/2/2016 12pm w/ a family member who had an appointment)
Yes [25m] (5/10/2016 9am)

-----------------------------------------
Disclaimer: These are only data points. There is no guarantee you will be successful as a walk-in.

Global Entry Interview-Hartsfield-Jackson

Keep checking the website since appointments open up frequently. If only 1 of you find an appointment, the other will most likely be able to do a walk up at the same time.

Have you considered flying to MIA for the interview, perhaps considering it to be either an early-year MR or a nice little weekend break?

Actually it did cross my mind but I decided to hope for a cancellation or try the walk in approach. Today I checked and found one appointment available for January 1 so I booked it for my wife. I will go with her and maybe they will go ahead and do my interview at that time. Also, I will continue to check for cancellations between now and our flight date. Thanks for the suggestion though.

So once you do the interview (assuming there's no glaring issue brought forth in that interview), do you need to wait for the card to enter a Known Traveler number? Or is the kt# something you'll have when you leave the interview?

Your PASSID will be in the email approving you post-interview. It will be active the next day, but you can enter it immediately. If the CBP Officer tells you that he is approving you on the spot, he can actually write the # down for you.

Your KT# is actually on the letter you must print out and bring with you to the interview. The CBP agent highlighted mine so I could begin using it the next day before receiving the card in the mail.

Does anyone have experience with walk-in's at CVG? I spoke with a surly gentleman at CVG who said no walk-ins. Currently, the first open appointment is on the final days of February. Not many cancellations happen either.

No experience with CVG. But extrapolating my experience in ORD with what has been posted previously, regardless of CVG's official stance on walk-ins and assuming you are willing to try "anything", you might get an appt. if you arrive late in the day towards closing time.

NOTE:
ORD closes at 20.00, official stance; no walk-ins

I got Global Entry at ORD. Had an appointment, showed up earlier, nobody was waiting, so they took me early. They were pretty cool about it, so I'd assume they'd take walk-ins too.

Wanted to post my experience.

To give a sense of the timeline:

Dec 02: Applied online
Dec 12: Received approval notice
Dec 12: Looked online for appointments at ORD: Booked in for Jan 9'14. Earliest I could get.
Dec 15: Looked online for anything sooner at ORD: Found cancellation spots available on Tuesday Dec 17. Took that appointment.
Dec 17: Arrived about 40 minutes before my appointment. The little room was full (only about 8 or so chairs), so grabbed a sandwich from next door at McD's. Came back. There seemed to be a fairly steady stream of interviewees going in and coming out. At my time (or within a minute or two either way), I was called back.

The interview: Unlike other reports, the CBP officer that interviewed me was kind, polite, cordial, and nothing like what I'd expected after hearing the other reports about the officers being rude, impersonal, and what not. The questions are what you'd expect: ever been convicted, ever been arrested, how long have you lived at this address, do you travel for leisure or business, how did you find out about the program, and so on. I answer the officer's questions, she takes my picture, scans my fingerprints on a little scanner, explains the process for coming back into the country from abroad, tells me I'm approved, and circles the ID number on my approval letter (this will be a number that starts with "98..."). That becomes your Known Traveler number. She explained I can use that number immediately for booking travel to get Pre Check, and the card itself (Global Entry Card) will arrive within a week or so.

My ***only*** disappointment was with the Terminal 5 parking lot at ORD, where, because I was 2 minutes over the one hour, had to pay $6 instead of $2 for parking, due to the line to get out of the parking lot.

All in all, from application to approval: 15 days.

Other info: there seems to be 4-5 people booked into each time slot. If they open up the door and say "Who's 2:15?" If that's you, don't be alarmed if 3 or 4 other people also raise their hand.

The statement about walk-ins - I believe this will depend on who's working the desk. You're better off just hawking the schedule each day if you're going to be in the vicinity of an enrollment center. I definitely wouldn't make a special trip there on the hope you'll get in as a walk-in.

Anyone have any experience walking in at ATL international terminal? I have a long layover in ATL and was hoping I could make it happen.
