Great stuff, SFO777!! Nice to see someone treat their father like that.

Quick question - what type of status do you need to access the HKG VS Clubhouse?

No status necessary, just your SQ First Class BP.

How nice of you to let your father tag along

Do get any miles on such a trip?? And do you know if you have to live in the US to be able to buy this fare??

Cheers
Hi SASDC8, yes the fares qualifies for regular F mileage on *A carriers. We used our AC account and received 28,000 EQM miles including bonuses, enough for both of us to reach AC's 35,000 Elite level. I don't think there is any residence requirement, just need to start the RWT x-US.

In my recent experience, the 800 number/India call center is pretty useless for anything but the most basic inquiries.

Anyway, could have done without the anti-CNN comments, but regardless this was a great, great trip report. One of the best I've ever read. And what you did for your dad was wonderful.

Thanks, the 4 hour FRA-ZRH was €99 PP in DB 1st. While the advertised at seat service was non-existent, the table seats were very comfortable (for 2), dining/bar car was only 3 cars back and we had an entire car to ourselves for the last half of the trip. ^

One interesting pic along the way...

GREAT Report

Thanks so much SFO777 for the amazing report - I hope to be doing the same when I'm 80!

So many wonderful details plus the photos made it seem (almost) like we were sitting there with you (was going to say sleeping with you but Mrs. SFO is probably already gnashing her teeth about your Singapore Girls...)

Great report. Would you please explain what the JetQuay is and how does one book it?

Jet Quay

JetQuay is a priority service - that facilitates your arrival or departure via a luxury lounge at Singapore Changi.

If arriving they pick you up at the gate - and then collect your luggage, process your passport thru Immigration and clear your arrival formalities while you are sitting in the lounge relaxing. they then put you in a car and deliver you to your hotel or address in SIN,

Equally on departure they provide a car - deliver you to the Club - and process you, check in, security, Immigration etc and then deliver you to the aircraft door.

Meanwhile you can use the bar, food, shower, use the business centre or the gym.

Check out their webpage.

Its an awesome service

Thanks. This recent thread contains a lot of good info on their services and should answer most of your questions.
