That's how it is. You used to stand out in the office before 6 p.m. without a tie (you were asked if you were on holiday), but nowadays you can hardly see a tie. Even in court today, almost more lawyers don't wear a tie than do. It is what it is.....
I even have a bow tie because a dinner jacket doesn't look very good with a tie. I just don't have a practical opportunity to wear a dinner jacket anymore.

Casa di Giulietta Verona

The Casa di Giulietta is an essential part of any visit to Verona. I just took a look at the inner courtyard with the balcony and the statue that you are supposed to grab the breasts of. Very crowded and not really my cup of tea.

That's just the reserved seating. I watched quite a few opera performances there in the late 1980s and the seconda gradinata was very popolare. Tickets were a very reasonable ITL 15,000, which is about € 7.50 in today's money. People would sing along and all that. No ties, but of course lots of Italians who would be dressed nicely, just not in formal wear. Because of the open seating, you would come as early as possible to get a good place to sit.

Then vendors would appear offering seat cushions. At first you'd laugh, but several hours sitting on stone, with no seats, backrests or anything, would test most bums' pain tolerance, and on every pass the seat cushion vendor would find thankful new clients.

Hard this time. One is coming later. Verona has a famous Gelateria, but it would have been a 45 minutes detour.So only one unfortunately.
