U.S. Passport/amendment pages
We're going to South Africa. Entry requirements state that passports must have 2 unstamped "visa" pages and this doesn't include endorsement or amendment pages. I recently had pages added to my passport, will these new pages be acceptable to the South African immigration folks? Or do they consider these added pages "amendment pages"? Where the pages were added it says "This passport has been amended and this supplement forms part of the passport" (or something to that effect). The last page of the passport does say "endorsements/amendments"

These pages are considered regular passport pages. Should be no problem. When it comes time to renew your passport ask for the 48 page passport. Just include a letter with the application asking for the 48 page passport. No additional costs.

I have a similar question, I only have pages 22 to 24 left in my passport, and will be traveling to Singapore, Bangkok and Bali leaving Friday. I just noticed that these pages aren't titled "Visas", but instead on page 22 and 24 says "Amendements and Endoresements". Will this be a problem. Page 23 doesn't say anything on it.

To the OP, those extra pages are exactly for your situation. It should not be a problem.
To SF1K, I don't know if it will be a problem or not, but if you decide to get it fixed pronto, I think that the San Francisco Passport Agency will sew new pages into your passport while you wait by appointment only if you can prove you are traveling within the next two weeks. I seem to recall someone mentioning a $60 fee.
The other option - which I know of only secondhand - is that if you can get into one of your countries first, I hear the consulate or embassy abroad will do it in about 15 minutes for free.

I was in HKG back in April, and only had about two pages left. I made an appointment through the US Consulate website for HKG, and was out of there in 20 minutes. There was no charge for getting pages added.
On the other hand, the US passport agency wanted $60.00 for express service.
So, if you're near a US consulate/embassy, get it done there if they offer that service. At most, it would take a half a day.

In summary, other than going to a U.S. embassy, you can get pages added by mail for free, but the time it takes can vary, as you will see from reading the thread.
You have the option to pay for expedited service, which guarantees prompt delivery. I found the free service was too slow, and was able to call, pay for expedited service, and have the passport delivered within a couple of days.

Personal experience here.
Went to US Embassy in BKK last year to have pages added. It took 20 minutes and was free. The consular service has short hours(07:30-11:00 and 13:00-14:00) also closed all Thai holidays( I think there are about 100 of these
) and all US holidays plus the last Friday of each month. I want this job. :-: :-: :-: All and all a great experience. The embassy is a 5 minute wak from The Ploenchit sky train station.

SF1K. The SIN stamps are reatively small and IMHO they will stamp them just about anywhere. Just go to SIn and when there take an hour out of your day and just get pages put in for free.
