I am waiting for www.expertflyer.com to show up on the AAdvantage partners page. So I can get 1,000 miles for signing up. :)

Although I was not pleased to read in the terms & conditions that I was also giving them permission to run credit reports whenever they feel like it. And the account cancellation required 30 days notice?! So whenever I want to cancel I'm still going to get charged another month? edited: just tried to check my itinerary and I got "An unexpected error has occurred. If the problem continues, please contact our support team." I hope it works better later. |

My question is.. just because it looks official-like doesn't mean it's actually correct. How do you know for certain?
I wonder if seatguru.com knows that it's being referenced in their screenshot: https://www.expertflyer.com/include/...s/seat-map.png |

Well ExpertFlyer isn't doing anything for me right now. Just error message after error message. Is anyone else getting aa.com-purchased itineraries to list? PS - thanks dspringer for posting. |

One nice thing about it I found is that if you are checking up flight info you get all the information that phone agents have, like reasons for delays, diversions, etc. That can come in handy sometimes. |

OK, I'm sold ......
We have 2 reservations out there, both made on AA.com (though subsequently 'touched' by the EXP desk) - it was able to pull up both of them ok. |
Absolutely wonderful. Terrific.
All they need now is the Expedia style Routing tables in the fares, and then it's quite literally perfect. Alex |
So far useless
I just signed up and so far it seems useless. Tried to pull up reservations made through my corporate travel agent and nada.

Remember, folks, there's a five day trial on this if it fails you. And the cancelation / T&C and all are not far from typical, it may be that you're READING them right now, and you haven't reviewed the T&C you have with other websites, creditors, etc. - often surprising  !
In my experience with ExpertFlyer, I've had no problem pulling up my PNRs, every one of them, purchased on AA.com or not, and even seeing seat assignments / availability on such aircraft as SN Brussels AVRO 85. If you are unable to pull up AA-purchased PNRs, something is not right, IMO - double-check everything is excatly as your aa.com PNR, and if it still fails, contact the support team... Other omissions or errors 1) may be due to the database used, e.g. Apollo, Saabre, etc., and 2) in case it is not, brought to the attention of the support team. And, IMO, it always pays to be discrete - I have no troubles calling AA to correct information in my PNR, but I will not tell them how I see the data, nor make too direct an approach to a correction, likely - just enough to 1) get the correction made, and 2) perhaps to get somene entering a really off-base comment to think twice about doing so. But I'd hate to lose this valuable tool (reviewing my PNR) by stirring up a AA hornet's nest. (I have seen some errors in mine, including the aftermath of the Asian earthquake, which according to one PNR has suddenly relocated my city of record from northern California to Hawai'i! The weather, particularly yesterday, still feels like northern CA, and definitely NOT like HI, however.) This tool, as mentioned before, has allowed me to do some planning I'd have taken HOURS to do previously. Not perfect, perhaps, but consider the competition (none) or the alternatives... and if we find any peculiarities or items of interest to other AA users, it'd be great to post them here... |
So far..... Brilliant
I subscribed to the premium service and was able to quickly see domestic upgrade availability for some flights I have to do this week. Easy. One of the flights I had planned to take hadn't released upgrade inventory yet. I was able to find an alternative flight and immediately book it and get my upgrades (this is on a sometimes hard to upgrade DFW-DCA flight where there are a lot of first-class and Y fares). I also was able to find out C availability for some flights I want to use my VIPs on. :) :) :)
