I have experienced this too. I was trying to book award tickets and the agent said that availability would differ based on whether I was or was not a part of the travelling party!

 - I already knew that PNRs would become unreachable once I started flying those itins. But now I noticed that even those booked and ticketed all through AA.com yet I haven't started flying them, flights for February, have also become unreachable...
Anyone else having the same problem ? |
Yep; I can't see itineraries I could earlier today   :( :(
|
Same here - itineraries I could previously see ok can no longer be pulled up -

alexwuk and tt7, appreciate your swift comments.
Apparently another door has been shut on us. This seems particularly bitter for these entrepeneurs who have just started their business... :( |

AA Cuts Off Access to Their PNRs
Well, we received a cryptic call from someone at AA today asking us some strange questions.
When we did some digging we found out that AA had cut off our access, through our GDS, to their PNRs. We'll keep you posted as we look into this. Thanks for your patience and support. |
open mouths = closed doors... oh well..

Seems a little pricey.

Based on what do you say that-- can't you follow along? Then again 60 posts in ONE day on FT. |

As a general rule, I think sticker upgrades always come out of their own class (X and R) and eVP and mileage upgrades came out of the same class (for now), which is a different class than sticker upgrades. As for the codes, I just booked a 1st/biz class milage tkt on AA (2 class domestic) and the booking fare code was "Z". For stickers (Y to F on a 2 class) it is X, and I've found for upgrading using miles on a domestic 3 class flight (Y to J) the code is usually "U". not sure on 3 class domestic sticker upgrades. Fun system though! |
AA Software Capabilities
It takes years for AA to make enhancements to their system. But only hours to cut off access to a worthwhile product. Seems like a poor allocation of resources.

It certainly does address another concern of some posters: Does anyone at AA read FT? I'd say "yes," and maybe a red face or two from the PNR stories?
So, if EF is a travel service, why have AA cut off access? :td: |
