jrl767 I fear that we've now reached a serious impasse, and might be closing in on "directed hint" time as a result. If I put forth anymore wrong UA planes for DEN-SEA, I will feel bad, and my prospects of correctly picking small planes for the other remaining two cells are even lower. So, I'm hoping you can nudge as a little bit (i.e. don't give away answers, but push us in the right direction; all of us want to complete your amazing trip 2!).

BTW, old friends who worked for American for many years said the MD-90 designation for the airplane actually stood for "Minimum Delay 90 minutes" due to engine reliability issues experienced by the former Reno Air birds.

2D- D10 is INCORRECT … per my source OAG, UA875 (the 1125am DEN-SEA trip) was indeed operated with a D10; however, this flight featured a different jet
HINT: from the source OAG, UA operated five more types into DEN at this point in 1999; two were Airbus products and three were Boeing-built … the jet in question was not the smallest from either manufacturer

As I think we've already eliminated everything else in the fleet save for 747 variants operated by the Friendly Skies (and I just don't remember UA flying 747s DEN-SEA in the '90s (ORD-SEA, yes, but DEN-SEA just doesn't feel right), so my 2D guess is 319.

HINT- it’s a turboprop
2F- SH6 is INCORRECT
HINT- it’s smaller
Aha. I see that the DEN-SEA equipment was not the smallest from either manufacturer. But could it have been the smallest from either manufacturer actually operated by UAL? UA flew the small A319 but not the smallest A318.

well, I think we’ve reached the end of the guessing road here for this UA flight … DEN-SEA was actually a 744

For cell H7, I'm going to suggest the EMB 120, at only 30 seats (v 36 seats in the SH6). We could potentially go even smaller, but this would limit us to things like the Twin Otter, which US never used. or other wrong guesses like the B1900. My gut tells me that we will finish off trip 2, but things like the 744 for SEA-DEN simply shocked me.

Are you okay jrl767 ? I hope you aren't offended by our recent guesses here. Turboprops based in airports like IND 20 years ago clearly aren't our strong suit, but I still remain confident that we'll finish off trip 2 eventually. I've really enjoyed its Great Circle component personally.

doing fine, thanks ![Wink](https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
return trip was EAP-LHR (BA A320) on Tues afternoon and LHR-IAD (BA 787-10) yesterday
2A- ATR is INCORRECT (not possible per the constraints, as we already have one in this trip)
2F- EM2 is INCORRECT (not possible per the constraints, as we already have one in this trip)
2F- SH3 is INCORRECT
HINT- one of the two was a U.S.-built type, the other was from the U.K.
