16. (1988) It’s not often that business calls for you to travel from your home office outside Atlanta, Georgia to the far-flung regional office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When it did recently, you were pleased to discover a two-stop direct flight from Atlanta that would put you into Sioux Falls early in the afternoon. You quickly book it and make a note to pack a sandwich since no meals will be offered enroute. Name the airline, the two intermediate stops and the aircraft type you’ll be flying.

However, over the years, I've seen Antonov 12 aircraft parked on the ramp just across from the FedEx facility just west of JFK Blvd. at IAH on several occasions
So if anyone is in the area and has time to take a look.....

Better check your road maps, J - MCI is down at least a couple of roads from LNK, such as I-80 to I-29 with a few side roads thrown in for good measure.

Correct! Des Moines is the missing stop. It's located just 189 miles down Interstate 80 from Lincoln. Here's the schedule:

1,000 miles to two islands seems to indicate the Dutch ABC islands - Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, and if the flight was just twice weekly and came back to Miami the next day it seems to indicate it was operated by one of the Miami charter operators on someone else's behalf. Lets go for ALM who were using an Electra, leased from someone like Fleming International.
You're right about the Electra but the destination islands were not Aruba, Bonaire or Curacao. Nor was the airline ALM. Head up northeast a ways...

Logic may be that the stop was in Houston / IAH. However, I know for a fact that the Houston hub was dismantled by 1988. It was in place at least around 1983 or before, 1984, 1985 or so. Then Eastern's Midnight Express took over a gutted hub, flying Airbus A300-B4 in the middle of the night, offering low fares, no check in allowance, no snacks (which was the norm in the 1980's), and the belly used for cargo. So not IAH.
This is a gamble, but it's Las Vegas! Eastern had limited LAS-LAX service. So...
