I had missed all the previous emails about the price increases (no doubt because of the incredible volume of emails) and was just charged $49.99. This seems like a pretty clear case of a company raising their prices because their revenue has decreased from lost subscribers. But they've lost subscribers due to functionality degradation, so increasing the price by 400%, for those of us who have stayed, for a product that barely works compared to when we signed up, seems shortsighted to say the least. I can't imagine they will be in business for more than another 18 months.
Edit to add: I just clicked "Update all" on AwardWallet, thinking I'd get all my current balances before I go. It had me log in to four separate sites, one by one. Then it threw errors and didn't update a single one of my 12 accounts. I tried twice, same result. $49.99 for this? |
If you are unhappy about the changes that AwardWallet has made, consider leaving a review on TrustPilot: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/awardwallet.com

Now the chrome extensions are disabled by the new chrome security policies. If you want me to pay more for the service, at least keep on top of making your services work.

Awardwallet owners have known for quite some time that they needed to update their Chrome extension.
It seems the owners have been more interested in raising their prices by 400% than keeping their product current. This is a big red-flag, if they can't keep the Chrome extension current, how can I trust them to keep their security current. Their databases have plenty of customer passwords. I would like to receive an official email or blog post regarding how Awardwallet is maintaining their product and how they are keeping up-to-date regarding security threats. I don't want another experience like I had with LastPass. |
I monitor a US Bank credit card on AW. I got an email from US Bank with an auth code in the middle of the night. Before I call the bank to investigate suspicious activity, from where do the AW update requests originate?

I have been having more trouble with updating AC, Marriott, and AS lately. Most times, I have to delete and readd. But sometimes, that doesn't even work.
Just cancelled my subscription before my renewal rate goes up this week. Can't justify the new rate if the site doesn't work properly. |
Try TravelRewards Wallet. It’s all manual, but that’s what I was doing with my own spreadsheet anyways :) I have a few promo codes to download TravelRewards Wallet for free on iOS. Send me a message if you want a code to try it out.

after spending the last couple of hours trying to get AwardWallet to update my accounts ... the majority of which failed ...
finally decided that it's time to give up on AW and just use a spreadsheet - maybe best not to have all my eggs in one online basket anyway! then delete my AW account before they go bust!! |

I also missed the email about the price increase to 49.99. Only realized when saw a charge on my statement. Does anyone know if I can cancel Plus subscription and get a prorated refund?

By sheer chance and coincidence (I maintain a repo that is wallet-related and I occasionally check to see if there are any new features I should add, usually when some other maintainer stops updating) I ran into this really long and comprehensive rant/expose/god knows what from someone who apparently was a developer. I can't comment on the veracity of the thing, and it's in Russian, but luckily, Google Translate to the rescue.
Original: https://github.com/AwardWalletScam/AwardWalletScam Translated and archived on 3rd party site in case it gets taken down with some sort of DMCA notice, however frivolous: https://rentry.co/awardwalletdevtrans It's very long, mostly I think because the actual text is only 100 lines or so but once it's formatted, you get an essay. I can't vouch for, well, anything, except that the odd tech aspects match up to what happens if one used the tech in question, and also, source of frustration for I'm sure more than just myself. All the login issues are easily fixable and unlikely to trigger some sort of blocking if done properly so I wondered for some time how they end up unable to log in. That is at least answered here. The rest of the drama, I mean, at least you can get some AI to read the thing out to you now I guess, possibly in the style of Gwyneth Paltrow or some other famous person. At least this exists and paying members can judge the veracity individually. |
Has anyone been able to fully unsubscribe from AwardWallet emails?
I've got every box unchecked, and every pop-up set to "never" but I still get their credit card spam. |

Awardwallet
Years ago I signed up and regularly used Awardwallet. I dropped off, in part due to less travel (even before covid), and because several programs were no longer compatible or updating. I was reminded of it recently, but have not heard or seen whether it is secure or even usable. Does anyone still use it? Is it safe to use?

I'll ask the mods to move your query over to this thread:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trav...ardwallet.html I still subscribe but will not renew when my subscription expires. The cost has gone up and so many sites require 2FA. I might as well use my own spreadsheet. |
