Thank you, and yes I will try to monitor this thread more closely.
Will try to help out by looking back and bumping ideas. |

Hopefully not. But previously they were active with feedback, and now it has been months of silence. Their own forum looks smaller in total than this thread alone. Would be good marketing to follow up customers where they are, no?

AwardWallet is discontinuing the browser extension on February 25, 2012
Just received the following email from AW:
Dear El Cid, We regret to inform you that we will be discontinuing support for the AwardWallet browser extension on February 25, 2012. This means that you will no longer be able to track your American Airlines related information (balance, status, etc.) on AwardWallet.com. We have been forced to take this action by American Airlines' stance toward AwardWallet. We created the browser extension in order to address American Airlines' concern that AwardWallet was collecting customers' mileage data. We believe the extension addressed this concern because it simply collected your mileage data and stored it locally on your computer. American Airlines, however, objects to the extension. It's position appears to be that AwardWallet is prohibited from providing any software tool that facilitates the ability to track the customer's American Airlines' mileage information. We think this is unfortunate. If you have any questions about this matter please do not reply to this email, instead lets have a discussion in the forum: http://awardwallet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1940 |
That's disappointing. Shame on AA.

I for one will be writing to AA to express my disappointment with their stance. AwardWallet is my main tool for tracking points, and having to long into aa.com specifically to check my AA mileage balance is a huge mark against the program, especially when literally every other program I use can be tracked in AwardWallet.
Shame on AA. Please, join me in expressing your disappointment to them. It is the only way they might reconsider their policy. Edit: Here is the text of my email to AA customer relations: To Whom It May Concern: I would like to express my deep disappointment in American Airlines' ("AA") stance toward the mileage tracking service AwardWallet ("AW"). AW is a useful tool that many frequent fliers use to track their mileage balances in many programs. I have used it to track my AAdvantage miles balance for many months now, even after AW designed a browser extension meant to alleviate AA's concerns that the AW service was collecting customers' mileage data. While a valid concern, I believe AW's steps to store all customer data locally, on the customer's computer, was both reasonable and adequate. I believe AA's continued anti-AW stance is unjustifiable. AA's anti-customer stance toward AW is a mark against AA and the AAdvantage program. I am a regular AW user, and there is literally not a single other loyalty program I use that I cannot track using AW. It is an invaluable tool for people like myself, who have mileage balances spread across many programs that would be difficult to track were it not for a centralized tool like AW. I understand AA's wish to protect its customers, but in my opinion, AA is actually doing its customers a disservice by continuing its anti-AW policy. I hereby request that AA reconsider its policy and permit AW to once again provide AAdvantage account-holders the ability to track their mileage balances with AW. Kind regards, XXXXX |
When Award Wallet runs into our Chase accts., a text verification from Chase is being sent each time the account is checked. If I enter the code that was texted, it still doesn't work. With four different accounts, this is annoying. Any chance it will stop?

AwardWallet has, bar none, the best customer service of any online tool like this that I've seen. David Flyalog |
Yes, they are amazing. I can see they are tinkering because today Hilton won't populate as well...

I wish they would just ignore the Chase accounts while the problem remains. Seems like, since they know it won't check, the "update all" should just omit Chase.

Awardwallet.com[No referral codes]
Agree!!! I love to run a daily check, but will now just check individual accounts where I'm expecting large additions.

Anyone know when the Chase issue is going to get fixed??

Just tried logging in as usual to my United account from Awardwallet.
Got this message: "In order to perform auto-login to this program, you need to first install AwardWallet browser extension. All this extension does, is it enables us to automatically log you into your account from your browser." Does anyone know why such an extension is now needed? (And is it needed only in order to log in to United?) |
