+1

I have accounts that last received miles 6 months ago that still show a little green up arrow. At a minimum that feature should be configurable.

I am in the process of switching to AW since Gomiles heeded American's cease and desist order. I've been very pleasantly surprised with the site, hopefully I will be able to continue to see my AA here for a while, since it is a pain tracking the 6 of us in the family without something like this.

I cannot find where one puts a signature.

The FAQ (or somewhere) says to go to "MyFlyerTalk" and click "Add Signature".

Too bad that "Add Signature" is nowhere to be found.

When you click Myflyertalk, look on the left. One option says, "edit signature" which is what you are looking for.

I've been getting error messages these last two days when updating. Is it a problem with my phone or the service?

Looks like AA is officially cracking down on AwardWallet. As of December 4, 2011, AW will no longer be able to access AA miles balances. Just received an email saying they are testing out a new browser extension that will store your password info with your browser and will access the AA balance from your computer instead of their servers.

There will be a beta period, but no word yet on when the beta will be released.

Here's the email:

"American Airlines has contacted us and stated that we may not access its website on your behalf and that we may not store any of your American Airlines account data on our servers. As a result, in the coming weeks we will release a browser extension which will enable you to check your balance and still display that balance along with the rest of your loyalty account balances; however, the data, such as your username, password, balance and any other attributes will only be stored in your browser so we will never have access to it. Also, this browser extension will be accessing American Airlines website from your computer and not from our servers. Since we do not have this extension ready yet, please save all of your American Airlines accounts and password in a secure place so that you can enter that data when we release the extension."

Just got that email myself. Very disappointing. I hope they are able to work something out. I don't understand why AA finds awardwallet a threat - it just makes it easier for me to use up my miles!

What a bummer, I had my AA account, wife's, son's, moms and dad's, all of whom I had signed up for the 75k bonus tracking; now I'll have to sign in 5 times.

Funny is that Points.com still allows you store account info and retrieve balances. Isn't it against AA rules as well?

I don't find this to be such a big deal. With the plug in it doesn's seem like things will be much different for us.
I also can't really blame AA. They want it's members to go to AA.com as much as possible to check their balances. I would think AA assumes that the more you are on their site, the better chance you consider booking something...

I posted about this e-mail on my blog. If you are interested in reading my post, it is

Points.com is AA's partner for trading (buying and giving) miles so I would not be surprised it was Points' request / demand.
