Which filter list do you use with Ad_Block? I hadn't checked that in a while, and I notice a lot of suspicious entries from the "EasyList (USA)" filter set. For example, 1-800-Flowers, RealMedia/ads/adstream_mjx.ads, media.*.flv and a lot more.

It makes me wonder if this list is legit.

::sigh:: My favorite extension -- delicious complete -- does not work with Firefox 3, not even with the compatability hack (for some reason, I can't save the del.icio passwords in the settings, and the pop up window is blank when you click on it.)

Does anyone know of another delicious extension that allows you to seamlessly post to multiple accounts? I'm not interested in synching del.icio with my FF bookmarks, or anything like that. I just want to be able to choose which del.ico account I post to without manually logging in each time.

Other extensions I use:

....... plus
Bug Me Not
Customize Google
Delicious Bookmarks (sad, inadequate replacement for delicious complete!)
Fast Dial
Faviconize Tab
Fireform
Flashblock
Greasemonkey
Livejournal Addons
No Squint
Session Manager
Shareaholic
Tab Control

I found the "oldbar" plugin does wonders to making the address bar work much more like FF2 (which I used heavily). It's not perfect but makes it tolerable compared to the awful bar.

For those waiting for Google Browser Sync for FF3 I was reading last week that they are discontinuing it... Though maybe some nice soul over at the Googleplex will have a moment to update.

I've got a question. I'm used to using Netscape, where I have all these links in my toolbar to various sites. When I click on them, it'll open a new link in a new tab (and go to that new tab). I'm not able to do that in FireFox. Do I have a setting wrong, or does FF not support that? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure there are plug-ins for FF that will let you do that. You can find them on the mozilla.com websie.

The easiest way is to right click the bookmark and choose "Open link in a new tab".

If you want to do it with the left click you'll need an add-on. Maybe this (not out on FF3 yet):
TabBrowser

Edit: This one will definitely do it:
Tab Mix Plus

Seeing as the autocomplete question was answered quickly......

Just upgraded yesterday, and now I'm seeing a funny thing. When using GMail on FF3.0, I'm now seeing little boxes pop up in the place of some punctuation. I've played around with my font settings, and can't get rid of them.

The little boxes have either 0097 or 0095. Never saw these in FF2.X

Any thoughts?

I went into my gmail and looked at 20 or so different emails both new and old and could not see this anywhere. Do you know in place of what punctuation?

Not seen anything reported on this. Is your locale English (United States) or something else? Is the mail written in English?

Sounds like FF3 is rendering foreign characters differently to FF2.

It's looking like it's in place of dashes or certain spaces, so I'm guessing it's a font issue, and it's mostly emails that are HTML(like UA confirmation emails). My locale is Eng-US, so that's no different.

I looked at the error console in FF, and got the following:

Warning: Error in parsing value for property 'display'. Declaration dropped.

Thanks for all your help, I'll keep working on it.

Not happy

Although pages load faster, my user experience is slower thanks to the new history feature. This new feature sounds good on the surface, but it breaks the way I look up webpages. For instance, in Firefox 2.0, if I type in two letters in the location bar, "fl" up pops the link for my most common flyertalk pages in order. Now when I type "fl" I get a huge jumbled list of things.

Is there anyway to go back to the version 2 behavior in this respect?
