I'm happy with FF#...but haven't you been using it for months?

Can you post the instructions?

Too much work... Just install the nightly tester tools plugin and override the compatibility checks. But not everything will work. Google toolbar crashes the browser and requires a safe start.

It is always very, very possible that I am messing something up, but I'm finding that doing it this way that FF runs MUCH slower than the current 2.x version.

I've been using Firefox for ages - since 0.6 and the only thing I don't like is the lag between new versions coming out and all the extensions you've gotten used to over the last release taking some time to catch up!
That said, Palal's way works for most extensions.

I've been getting increasingly frustrated with my version of FF. I can expect a crash every hour. Hopefully v3.0 will be much better.

Must be something on your system. I use both IE and FF, and there is no comparison. FF has balked maybe twice in the last 6 months, both times able to restore the session after closing. Far more stable than IE.

I'd concur. I've been using FF2 on a Vista machine for over a year now. Vista and FF are incredibly stable. Leave the browser (no restarts) and the OS up for weeks w/o any problems.

We use both IE and FF so we can keep logged in to our different Yahoo accounts without switching. Mrs. Redbeard's IE has no problems. My FF is a crashaholic. I use IE at work without incident.

Try this link to go directly to the download page:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

FireFox 3 seems noticeably faster. I haven't played with all the other features yet.

Wow Installed v3... It is much faster. To make older extensions work follow http://lifehacker.com/355973/make-yo...firefox-3-beta

Google browser sync still does not work but there is a new version of google bookmarks for v3.
