They just upgraded my 4s to a 6. Unless you have large hands this jump is really a pain in the Keester.
Positive /much easier to read and respond to mail, so things are less likely to get buried.
Negative / so large I hate using it as it is uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time.
Neutral - less likely pick up phone to surf, kill time because it is there.
The dog thinks this is a good thing.

FWIW, I have several family members with smallish hands who are very happy with their 6s (is that the right way we've settled on to pluralize "iPhone 6"?). I don't have terribly large hands myself and am in love with my 6 Plus. To each his/her own, though...

Jackal - my hands are really small.
I was recently given a Samsung tablet for work. I also am not in love with it and rarely use it because of its awkward for me size.

Are any other 6 Plus users surprised at how half baked the phone feels? The construction of the device itself is great - but the software is lacking.
There is no real one handed mode (it's pretty much impossible to type with one hand), common sense would seem that instead of reachability bringing the screen down it would pull everything towards one corner and essentially make the phone usable the way the iPhone 5/5S were.
Typing in landscape mode is tough too because the keyboard is centered with a bunch of cluttered buttons around it. The buttons are sort of helpful, but I'm surprised that the split keyboard mode from the iPad isn't available.
Also, few if any non-Apple apps work in landscape mode. That's pretty disappointing, I would've thought that Apple would provide some sort of support to update apps to take advantage of this.
Aside from all of that I've never had as many iMessage issues as I've had on the 6 Plus. That and other assorted issues have caused me to restart the phone more times in the last two weeks than I would with my iPhone 5 in any given 6 month span.
Oh, and the earpiece is really quiet - anyone else notice that?
Battery life is incredible, screen is great, bluetooth pairs much more quickly - but otherwise this is just a bigger, buggier version of my iPhone 5. Hoping much of this is fixed in software.

As for app support of landscape mode, I think that's really just incumbent on the app developers. I'd expect more and more developers to take advantage of landscape mode as they have the time (and funds) to put the code into their apps to do so. I can't speak to whether Apple has added anything to make it easier for developers to take advantage of landscape mode and whether they even could do anything to that end, although I do have a friend who does iOS app development that I could ask.
Are you sure you took the plastic off of the front?

Seriously, I've been victim to this, and so have family members and lots of people I've seen post online. The piece of plastic that covers the front, including the earpiece, is really not obvious and is easy to miss.
I can't say I've noticed it being any quieter than any previous iPhone. If it really is, perhaps you should take it in for service.
Agree with the first two, haven't noticed much difference with the third, and can't say I agree (other than the occasional Springboard crashes) with the assessment that it's any buggier than any of my previous iPhones. I rate it as one of the best purchases I've ever made--probably a close second to te first iPhone 3G I bought.

I'm looking at buying an iPhone 6 in Japan over christmas, and I'm a bit annoyed to see that there has been a price hike. On release it cost 67800 JPY and now apparently they've increased the price to 75800 JPY. Is there any particular reason to why they increase the price, and would it by any chance drop until december? I know the boxing day sale is after christmas, so is it perhaps more clever to buy it then, assuming there might be a discount? Also is it still possible to shop VAT free as a foreign national?

Definitely.
However, I've had some troubles with Find My iPhone getting activated after switching SIM cards. When I put an Irish SIM in my phone, the SIM had no credit and so the device was unable to send the normal FaceTime activation SMS/MMS, and I think that also blocked Find My iPhone from becoming active on the new SIM. I also had trouble in South Korea, and I really had to mess with the FaceTime and Find My iPhone settings to get it activated when I put my New Zealand SIM in.
For those of us who travel internationally and regularly put different SIM chips in, you really need to test and make sure that Find My iPhone is active and working. I may very well have been able to recover my stolen iPhone 5 in Ireland if Find My iPhone had been working.

That's quite interesting. Also,

iCloud Activation Lock removal service will NOT work on devices that are reported as lost or stolen. This is a protection mechanism to ensure that stolen devices remain out of service.
I think it's for some other type of activation lock. Phew.
