No, they claimed "9 official complaints received" the day that Bendgate came to light, about 3 days after the phone was released. They haven't made any claim about the numbers since, though the fanbois keep parading that around as if there are only 9 bent iPhones in the world.

I read somewhere that you can use the iPad charger to charge the iPhone 6/6 Plus. Is that confirmed? And does it really charge faster than the current charger? Thanks.

I use it all the time to charge mine. Not sure if its faster or not but its more convenient to carry one charger with me.

I think there was a test posted that using the iPad charger, the iPhone 6 was drawing 10W instead of 5W. Drawing twice the current would make it charge 2x faster.... unless of course the excess power turns into heat and then you phone would just blow up LOL.

My wife charge her iPhone 5s with her iPad charger all the time, but we didn't measure if it was charging faster...

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus do indeed draw 2A if the charger is capable of providing it (they'll slow down to 1A and even lower as they get near 100% charged) so yes, they'll charge faster if you use the iPad charger (or other similar one capable of providing >1A).

The previous iPhones do not draw more than 1A so it's no faster to use an iPad charger.

The 6 Plus is exactly the same size as I expected and it is pretty much identical to my Note 2.

I don't think I could downsized to the 6. It is just too small. Now with the reports of the 6 plus bending, I am not so sure about getting 6 plus. I put my Note 2 in the front jeans pocket. Maybe I should stay with the Android phone and wait for the new iPad Mini to be announced in October.
Have you thought about getting the Note4? That's coming out soon!

Are pics going to be better than a 6? Isn't the stabilization feature (the only difference between the two cameras that I know of) going to be something that effects video v. stills?

T-Mobile / USPS packaging follies

My new iPhone 6 Plus arrived via UPS yesterday. I followed T-Mobile's instructions to return my 5S (I bought the Jump package allowing me to trade it in), putting it in the bubble bag supplied and attaching the prepaid Merchandise Return Label (actually a USPS label). I took it to the post office, intending to buy some insurance - "You may purchase optional insurance from the Postal Service at your expense."

Surprise! Two postal clerks told me that one can't buy anything with this type of label. You can't insure it, you can't certify it, you can't do nuttin'.

I'd now be doubly furious I mailed it and it disappeared, so I bought an envelope, wrote the address on it along with "Apple Return" in two places, and packed the original bubble-bag inside. I got back in line, bought the insurance and postage and mailed it off.

Because I have the time, I called T-Mobile afterwards to let them know and they credited my account for the extra five bucks I spent on postage and envelope.

So far I like the phone.

I played around with the Plus a bit at Best Buy this afternoon.

Looking at some web sites side by side with my 5S in landscape mode.

Easier to read but given the resolution differences, it doesn't display more text so it wouldn't save much scrolling.

I then looked at the same sites on my iPad Mini Retina.

I'd say the amount of content displayed is closer to the 5S than the iPad Retina Mini, in landscape mode.

ios8 has resolution and text size settings and a setting for the default mode of the display. Did you try any of those?

In the settings app?

No must admit I didn't.

Maybe the advantage of the bigger screen for browsing is more apparent in portrait mode and the fact that you're less likely to have to zoom in on the Plus.
