256kbps with the One plans may be a bit better though.

I'm surprised you're not on a one plan.

Something about having to pay extra to tether at LTE speeds bothers me about the One plan, hence why I haven't switched yet.

I'm still on the old Simple Choice plan because I have a stateside International Talk & Text promo for the entire account. Moving over to One will increase my monthly costs considerably.

There's very little advantage to the One plans over the large Simple Choice plans; we're on a Simple Choice 10GB family plan that costs the same as the one plan would, but with the full 10GB of tethering (and unlimited non-tethering on an un-asked-for promotion, not that I've ever gone over 10GB combined, and have only gone over 5GB twice when tethering.)

My whole family is still on the simple choice 2GB plan. Only one of us goes over 2GB and if I went to one plan I would be paying $50 more.

Were you on the Simple Choice NA plan when you visited London?

Yep. (Am still there, even.)

I don't recall my Simple Choice roaming being bad in London but it's been a couple of years since I was there.

Recent Comparison T Mo and Project Fi for international travel.

Anyone ever get cut off by Project Fi for keeping their service suspended but only activating for international travel?

I have six on our simple choice (business) plan. 6GB, which most of us don’t get near. I did 6 instead of 2 because video streaming doesn’t count against data cap, while on the 2GB plan it was only music that was included in the “Binge-on” feature. We would have gone over on at least a couple of lines just from Netflix/YouTube/etc.

T-One would cost $200 (If I’m correct on the $20/line after the first four) vs our current $183. There’s a current promo for $35/line for the first four, so I could potentially get this down to $180, but I’d lose the tethering ability. I don’t use it a lot, but when I do, I want it available without having to pay more.

I have 12 lines of Simple Choice business 2GB. Going to One would double my bill. I think n:eek:t.

I also value the tethering capability, even though I rarely use it.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm being like those people who held onto the AT&T unlimited plans that came with the first iPhones. People held onto them for years since they were grandfathered, but in reality, they were using very reasonable amounts of data and could have saved good money by switching to more modern plans.

Maybe it's time for me to ditch the tethering and just move over to One. I've got four lines @ 2 GB, so it would cost about $160 v. $125 currently, but my kids could go nuts.

You can get tethering with the One Plus plan but it's an additional $10 per line.

I used One Plus overseas for the first time.

Really didn't notice the supposed faster speed that much (256k vs. 128k). Maybe the main difference is that most sites loaded whereas they didn't always at 128k)

But this was in one country so will have to see how it fares in other countries.

But :eek:ne costs more unlike your example where the new plan costs less. If you're happy with your current plan then why switch?
