As usual, the comments section almost always add more insight.

Not really a fan of how the Q10 looks in comparison to the 9900, IMHO.

Dear Lord....
Maybe the late launch in the US and apparently not bothering in some markets is an indication of a limited ramp up. Perhaps unwilling or unable to commit the capital for production of tens of millions of units in the first months of release?

Or maybe not.

BB has 0.03% market share there evidently.

Why waste resources there.

It would seem a waste of your marketing budget I agree - unless you can persuade them to change brands, which BlackBerry clearly don't think they can.

I will probably pick up a Q10 unless it is a complete disaster as having had a variety of bolds and curves and even earlier models through the years- I just don't want to deal with a non keyboard phone for writing proper emails. I have my iPad for web browsing and videos of cats taking a bath and babies waking up to songs on the radio etc.

Agree. Why bother bringing a product to a market of 127 million potential customers?

Is the entire point of the BB10 that it isn't your father's BB? Are they going to take a pass on China too?

Well if the predictive text is as good as the Playbook then he is right to say it's bloody good because it will be. And yes it learns your typing so that it can predict your next word before you've started the next word. It is very clever stuff - whether they can get this over to (enough) people is another matter.

Great example. They exited the brand because they felt that it would be too expensive to try to change the image. Its cheaper to start a new brand. Something that BlackBerry may have wanted to consider.

So you're saying quitting a country is a good thing, right?

It could be they'll eventually release handsets in Japan but without the marketing push that countries where they have a larger market share.

I'm hearing DOCOMO never really was a supportive carrier there.

Bare bones marketing on their part.
