I'm guessing he means the 3 models? (different subsets of LTE bands in each.)

You can get an unlocked iPhone from a non-US Apple site. Of course, you have to have a shipping address in that country.

New Connector

Like others, I'm also annoyed by the new connector. However, I realize the old connector has been the same since the first iPhone and accept the fact that technology evolves to keep up with the advancements which includes this connector.
I just more annoyed with the inflated and completely unjustified price! It's not that $25 is going to break the bank, it's the principle.

It's related to software development. As I understand it, there are now iPhones using different IOS - meaning some can't be upgraded. Now, you've got a phone with a different screen size/resolution. It drives developers batty.

makes more sense than what I thought. the different screen size part of it does, anyway. With Android, the manufacturers decide which phones get upgrades and which don't, right? and it was hit or miss for ICS, wasn't it? With Apple, there's only Apple, and the oldest devices fall off the supported list regularly. All the current ones get updates. So it's a little different in that sense.

Yes. I know this personally as I saw my friend field test it earlier this month.

Actually, it's as of Sep 14 @ 00:01 (midnight plus one minute PST) if by phone rep or premier. Stores are at later times.

One more thing: there's a incentive for those with certain n00bish phones that are 3GS+, when ordering by phone. Keep that in mind.

shipping time is already up to 2 weeks.

Not getting one. I don't see anything useful to me that the Samsung Galaxy S III does not have.

Apple are now saying that an adapter to the old dock connector will be shipped with each phone.

Well at least they're admitting that the consumer is likely to need this item asap unlike "the you're holding the phone the wrong way" iPhone 4 launch. Bumper anyone?

Who is getting one and locked or unlocked?

In Soviet Russia they already use iPhone 6

Pre-ordered one for the wife. Will sell her 4S to eBay Instant for $275 so we made the money back and more. Might as well get top dollar for the 4S while we can.
