Anyone know a current source for a $99 HP Touchpad?

I think any chances of the public getting any more from HP has officially disappeared...
HP UK has acquired 6000 for their employees.

After a thorough review of options, I’m pleased to share that starting at 9:00am (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, September 28th, HP employees in the United States will have one last chance to buy an HP TouchPad through the Employee Purchase Program on a first come first serve basis. Pricing will remain the same as it has been during the wind down process -- $99.99 for the 16GB TouchPad, $149.99 for the 32GB TouchPad…while limited supplies last.

It's here!
My 32 gig Touchpad just arrived. As I may have already mentioned, I'd been playing around with one of those bargain-bin, no-name Android touchpads. Needless to say, there is no comparison -- this thing is solidly bit and very responsive. I haven't done much with it except turn it on, download some apps and update the OS. However, I'm happy to have a "real" touchpad, as opposed to my Android cheapie, which is more of a toy.
Now if Cyanogen will just finish the port of Android to the HP Touchpad!

Ok, I finally got my Touchpad from HP directly.
In going to their "official" app page, I see embarrassingly few apps. I just need to confirm that I have the right page?
Geez, that Android port better come soon or else I'm selling mine....

Of course, if you'd like to sell your Touchpad, I'd be happy to buy it from you. Just drop me a PM.

Yes, the app library is extremely small, and many of the free apps you love on Android or iOS will cost a few dollars in WebOS. Make sure you subscribe to the WebOS newsletter. Every Thursday*, they give away free codes to apps you normally have to pay for. Once the e-mail is sent, you have about two hours to download/install it before the allotment is used up.
* - It has been every Thursday afternoon, except it was Friday morning two weeks ago.
I have plenty of useful apps to keep me occupied until a Honeycomb/Ice Cream Sandwich port is stable (I don't want Gingerbread). The only thing I'm really missing is a Firefox-type browser. The two that are available (one of them being stock) are lacking.

The only step I would recommend avoiding is load the, "Increase Touch Sensitivity and Smoothness 10" patch which, at least in my experience, does neither.

Since this thread has come back to life.....
Apparently for a few hours yesterday HP was selling the 32 gig model on it's website again. However, it was selling at $249 instead of the previous $149. No idea if it was a test to find a price point and then continue in the tablet market as some are hinting or just a grab for more cash.
No word on when or if they'll be up for sale again.

Strange. I see no ads on touchpadplus.com, just a few donate links.
That patch was terrible, and it's now gone from Preware.
The plain "Increase Touch Sensitivity and Smoothness" patch does help greatly, though. But, it seems, it's YMMV. Doesn't hurt to try, though!

There is progress being made on running android as an app on webos now
That would be the best type solution.
There is a running download out there now, but it is too buggy at the moment, but very good progress.
