Taper madness has set in! I feel gross from not exercising much, I keep obsessing about the race, and I am starting crazy threads about global wealth redistribution. Help!
Nothing to report, just short BS runs to keep the legs loose.

I ran 15 this morning, my longest run ever...until next weekend, anyway! I did 5 by myself and then met up with my running partner for 10 more. My legs kind of died a little on the last two, but overall, not a bad run.

BTW, magiciansampras, as you might know, Boston registration for 2010 closed a couple of weeks ago. It was shocking to see the race fill up so much faster than last year. Unless you have some great connections, you'll have to wait until 2011.
Still, enjoy the BQ! The 3:10 standard for men under 35 is among the toughest BQs, when you adjust for age and gender. I doubt I could have done that when I was your age.

Thanks guys!! It was a great run. Definitely challenging those last 6 miles but I was able to keep the pace up for a BQ! Full trip report is coming.
Particular thanks to dhuey and dukeman who first planted the seed in my mind that I could actually BQ this year!

You're welcome, but I'm sure dukeman would agree that seed planting is loads easier than training for a BQ marathon performance, and actually achieving it on race day.

What a difference 2.5 years makes.

Now you're over 10 minutes faster than my best.

I still can't believe it. It really is hard to believe that I ran that fast. I honestly had significant doubts it could be done, even when I was out there in the first half. But once I got to halfway, and then when I got to 20 and was still on pace, I knew there was no turning back. I was going to BQ. That is a huge motivator. It feels so distant at miles 4 and 5. But when you're at 20 and you know within range, my mind just pushed me through!
