No chance. Where did you buy your ticket?

If you get switched from F to J then UA will give you the difference back in miles...any other compensation is not required nor should be expected.

I'm booked for TG642 F on 06DEC, not on award. Fully paid in cash. Originating from Singapore.

Therefore, any chance of being transferred to SQ F should the flight get downgraded to a non-F equipment?

if a TG ticket likely not; but you can get a full reimbursement without fee or cash compensation for the downgrade

TG website now no longer offering F fares on SYD-BKK from 26 Oct...still lists operating aircraft as 747 though.

The UA site when looking at award bookings shows 777 and 2 class for my flight. Guess I'll have to call them.

Checking my award reservation on the TG and UA websites, it still shows 747.
Performing a new search for award seats on that date, the UA site shows 773.
On the TG site, it's still showing 747.

What sucks is that after the first flight switched from 747 to 773, I changed to later flights to keep the F class seats. Much good that did now...

I noticed the same thing. My UA resv shows F...the TG site only shows biz avail but says the plane is a 747. UA search shows the 773.
And now on my original date there is no J award available. I don't know if UA can force them to open a seat (doubt it)....but BKK-BNE shows J and I was only going to SYD first in my trip for F, I could switch it up.

Is this the seat for 773 to BNE? I didn't think it was a 77W...but when doing a dummy booking on TG.com it shows what looks like the staggered J seats.

No. BNE is typically operated by 777-300ER with the latest staggered lie flat product. However I think there have been some advance changes posted for some flights per week...check the seat map.

Both SYD flights show as 777-300, not 777-300ER, on the UA website, so I guess they're "773" with 2-3-2 J class config, not the "77W" with staggered lie-flat seats.
Even the 777-200, with 2-2-2 config, would be better than the 773, and there's availability for my dates.
Of course, if the SYD flights will be operated on the 77W, that changes things...
