Are checked bags the reason for no airside lounge access upon arrival?

I understand arrival lounges are traditionally landside - so passengers go thru passport control, collect their checked bags, and exit into the terminal. And connecting passengers have their bags checked thru to their final destination, so no issue there.

But if F passengers with checked bags and BKK as the final destination would go the club upon arrival, their bags could potentially go round and round the baggage carousel (for hours maybe) before they collect them. Is that one of the circumstances TG is trying to avoid? The other circumstance I can think of is general overcrowding if arriving passingers are permitted access to the TG clubs.

I am asking because I am curious about arriving final destination passengers (either F or J) with carry on luggage only. They have no compelling baggage reason to exit airside straight away.

Arriving and departing passengers at BKK are not supposed to be in the same area. So that is the issue. The flows are separate unlike a place like SIN

By this simple designation transferees to domestic flights should not have access to the F international lounge either.... but int F arrival to C domestic pax do.

I think it's an interesting example though I don't think this scenario is likely to have a happy ending.

Intl F arrival to C domestic does not automatically mean F lounge access.

I specifically asked to go to the F lounge as I had a 4 hour layover until my C domestic flight. I was not permitted to do so, and was bummed because a shower would have been very welcome.

I know that others have had success on occasion, but it is not a sure thing.

How long ago was the incident you mention?

I think this has been proved to be hit and miss time and time again. And you would be escorted.

The airport itself is not currently set up to have arriving and departing passengers mixing in the same area.

As Aussie Flyer also mentioned, it just depends on the day you ask....

It possibly occurs more often during high tourist season.

While TG definitely pays attention to their F pax I have no idea what you experienced that could be construed as 'embarrassing' nor 'fawning'.
Perhaps I've given the wrong impression, as actually I rather enjoyed it. Note my use of the word almost.

On a related topic, is there access to an F arrivals lounge in Rome when flying TG F BKK FCO?

We arrive at 7am and will not be allowed into our hotel until 2pm. After 24 hours flying (from SYD) we are really going to need a shower !!

Happened to me about a month ago. The buggy driver didn't want to let me off at the escalator so I insisted. Shouted the "Transit Desk" mantra I learned from you at the escalator dragon without breaking stride and arrived at the lounge where they let me in without much fuss. Usually it's not that hard.

Still not possible to get a shower at the airport if arriving in TG F? We are a family of four arriving 06.00 a.m and continue to HKT in C around 5.00 pm. The plan was to get a shower, make sure my wife got a massage in the F-lounge before we were heading for a sightseeing in the city before continuing to HKT.

Maybe a day room at Novotel BKK is the best option? Does TG have any discount with this hotel?

Technically no. The F lounge is in the international departures concourse, after security. I'm not even sure if you got there whether you'd be eligible for a massage (even a 30 minute business class) as you are flying domestic. The massages in the lounge are 'ok', but you generally find better outside (and inexpensive).

There's a range of hotels nearby, but Novotel is probably convenient.

usually not, but let us know whether they let you and your family into F lounge in this situation with the long transit time.
no discount for TG passengers in the Novotel
why don't you bring your flight to HKT forward (they have many flights to HKT during the day) and enjoy the beach there earlier?
