FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.
• Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.
• Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.
• Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.
Spa access rules:
TG F departure = F spa access
*A F departures = No spa access
TG C departures = C spa access
*A C departures = No spa access
TG F arrival connecting to TG C = C spa access, however some people have been offered F spa access in this scenario
No guest are allowed regardless of class of travel
Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?
A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.
I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

Flew in F on the 20th and did not get to have the complimentary aromatherapy massage. Was actually hoping it 'might' be exempt given all of Bangkok spas had closed on the 18th, and this spa kind of was airside

Flying HKT-BKK-TYO next year...is it possible to reserve a spa appointment at check in or lounge in HKT or only once I get to BKK?
Also, just for my knowledge...when they say the hours are 6-1130, does that mean the last massage starts at 1130 or 1030 so everyone is out by 1130?

is the F lounge in BKK still closed, resp. still limited to one separate room in the TG Prestige Lounge?
if the latter, how is this separate F room (I think it is behind the bar)? just a more quiet room with some extra space (Prestige lounge can get pretty full in the evening)?
any special food and drink offering? do they serve champagne?
I have an upcoming long haul flight in C on TG (first on TG after Covid) and I am still Platinum, so could use this F part of the lounge for me and my guest
During Covid the F offering in E lounge was a joke; not even a beer available...

Yes, and does not look like it is ever coming back - looks like they have returned the space to AOT (even the sign is removed and the door is boarded up, etc). It is indeed now just a cordoned off section of the Prestige lounge behind the bar.

at least there is some quiet and certainly less busy space as the TG Prestige lounge is a zoo in the evening... will check out offerings if Platinum still welcome and that has not changed as well...

It is a different story in the evening. Last month I was in the cordoned off section of the lounge from about 10 pm for an hour and a half. Much busier than afternoon but relatively tranquil compared to the main part, which I probably would not have stayed in for more than a few minutes.
I did not experience problems mentioned at check in on TG flight. Other 2 flights were Thai Smile; check in fast and as only Smile Plus went to the Thai Immigration lanes where there was no queue.
BTW I also have Plat status.

I have been in the cordoned off section the lounge twice in June and July this year between about 3 pm and 5 pm. At that time food seemed to be same or similar as that in the main part of the lounge, but I did not take much notice as I had already eaten at home. There were between 2 and 4 other passengers in the cordoned off section of the lounge and even mid afternoon it is more peaceful to sit in this part.

do they serve you in the cordoned off section or do you have to bring food and beverages from outside main area? any special offerings re beverage? champagne?
do they still have dedicated platinum desks at check in or possible to check in at F counters?
