I thought I wasn't too far off the mark......the reason I had mentioned the price of Moet was because of the topic!

I just got an email from my Aunt, she flew HKG-BKK yesterday and said that she was offering PDB Champagne in F and her daughter was offered PDB Champagne in J.

I wonder if TG realized the error of their ways and made a change in procedure?

As our little side conversation is a bit, well, aside, I'll leave it alone after this post. Took a look at Moet today and either Lucky has increased the cost considerably or you're just remembering incorrectly. $25 for a split, $43 for a 750ml.

As the recent posts all seem to indicate PDB champagne is alive and kicking I'll try to put down a bottle on my upcoming PNH-BKK flight.

Champagne in F from BKK-PEK was Bollinger outbound week before last but Piper-Heidesieck (not a favorite) on return last week from PEK-BKK. Whisky ex- BKK was Johnnie Walker Gold.

On the return the flight attendant apologized that they don't serve Dom intracontinental but the whisky was Johnnie Blue, which soothed the wound.

The big treat (for me, maybe not TG) was my having the F cabin to myself for the return. I picked through the menu in advance, they left both bottles and withdrew at my suggestion, and although I was capable of navigating I was very grateful for the TG ground service from the gate to the taxi upon arrival. Wonderful end to a hard business trip.

I flew Emirates in 2009 to Dubai and they told me they were not permitted to serve champagne pre-flight.

I flew Thai in first class from HKT-BKK and they served no alcholic drinks.

Domestic flights in Thailand don't have alcohol to serve.

Thursday flew SIN-BKK and person in front of me asked for Champagne when the flight attendant was handing out the pre-takeoff drinks. Reply was that it was 'illegal' to serve alcohol while they were on the ground!

Today flew BKK-SIN and Champagne served pre-flight as per normal
