Oddly enough, while I was among those who had problems a week or so ago, F/T has been loading very quickly for me since then.

Moderator, I'm positive thousands are having the same problem; however, they're not reporting it because it's taken me 30 minutes to even get to sign-in, locate this forum, and load this reply page.

Others having this problem just don't have the time or patience to let FlyerTalk know!

I'm headed on vacation in 6 days and need to print some pages from FlyerTalk.

I'm running IE and have never had problems with this website until June 20, 2007.

Thanks for you help!!!
This is about the time that others have told me they started getting the "Opinion Central" popup. My pop-up blocker blocks it, but it still takes forever for initial load of the home page - then everything is OK.

Those who don't block the pop-up also report taking a long time for the home page to load - and in addition, they have to cancel the pop-up multiple times before it goes away for good.

I'm thinking that it is highly likely that this problem is being caused by this pop-up that FT is inflicting on us. If IB wants to still have a viable website a few months from now, it would be wise to do something about this, or just get rid of it entirely.

I'm also on FT premium so that might well explain why I haven't been having the problems for the past two weeks.

I've updated my earlier post; the problem I saw seems to have been fixed about 5 hours ago.

Thanks so much Moderator for forwarding the problem. I guess it's a nice lesson learned. I had forgotten how much I relied on FlyerTalk for advice & info. You're a life saver!

I had no trouble earlier but the survey ad is causing me problems right now. Frustratingly it was also happening as I was trying to get to the Tech Issues forum to post that it was causing problems.

I'm having major problems with FT all the way around the past few days. Sometimes it doesn't load at all, no matter how long I wait. I was unable to access it for much of tonight. Can't load the home page at all and even when I access FT through the forums I'm having big time problems. Hope the problems clear up soon for me. I feel so out of the loop. I get all my news from OMNI

I'm not on the premium service because I really don't care about ads. The "Opinion Central" popup that floats around and keeps appearing despite my indication that I DO NOT want to participate is definitely annoying.

I use three different computers, all with FireFox. These things appear each time I use a new computer, and reoccur a bunch of times before giving up...then hey come back again next time.

Can I assume that this is not intended behavior?

Cheers.

Logs show it was OK for about 5 hours, then from 25-June-2007 22:21:04 UTC it's been broken again

9 seconds to load page

That may not seem like much, but adds up every time I change pages!

Are there any recommended settings/fixes etc to try to speed things up? I use three different PCs (all XP/IE6/NAV) on a variety of internet connections all over the world and one thing is consistent - FlyerTalk is far and away the slowest site I use, often to the point of exasperation. Typically when it's going 'fast' I'm waiting maybe 5-10 seconds for a page. When it's not, it can take so long that I give up. And I have paid for the ad-free premium service

FT appears to be broken. Any search (new posts, MyFlyertalk, etc.) takes forever, when New Posts finally comes up it shows only 8 new posts since last night, and making a new post takes minutes.
