Now the times of posts have gone 'all funny' when looking at the front page.
I guess the 'techy guys' are look into it and, as one myself, I know how annoying it can be when many people are badgering you for updates

thanks for looking out for us sl1ppy ^ .

Alright here's what is going on; last night we scheduled maintenance and security upgrades in order to prevent a recent web attack from affecting our servers. They beat us to the servers by about 2 hours and corrupted the synchronization between our databases . So most of last night(MST) was spent fixing the issues created by the compromise. This morning's slowdowns were a result of one of the servers not responding well to one of the security fixes once enough load was put on it . We are pretty sure we have resolved all of the issues and prevented them from happening again. Thanks for your patience.

Joshua, the above is still the case, except the threads are now showing as "latest" from an hour and a half ago instead of the ones that are actually the most recent in a given forum.

Same for me - I'm having to find devious ways to bring up the latest posts and PMs (in the past 1:50).

Same here. Also, I can't reply with quotes - you have to do it manually. And, when replying to a thread, the latest post shown is from 2 hours ago.

And, the "currently active users" section is blanked out and only shows yourself as the active member (kind of hard to believe on the big forums ). Hope this helps!

Mr Tinky said the web attack was probably from United Airlines
(LAX_AKL low fares)

I don't think the admins know we're posting to this thread, since the last thread updates aren't happening. Has anyone tried e-mail?

I'll try to email them. But just in case this is getting through, I will post here also.

I posted in one of the "counting" threads in the 5 PM hour. At that time, the last post said something in the 5 PM hour. My post did post to the thread, but the "last post" still showed the original "last post". I just posted again to that thread and over 3 hours later it still shows the "last post" as that original post! There has been 5 posts since that original post!

-----------------
Edit:

I just sent a PM to Joshua. It said it was sent, but it does not show in my PMs sent, so I'm not sure if it went.

Email to [email protected] might work better than a PM at this point; that address is monitored by several staff.

Also, I have a new private message according to the box in the upper-right of flyertalk. However, when I click on it to read it, I don't see any new messages, even though I know there's a new one there (I've been told offline about the message).

I also noticed it's showing me as the lone person in every forum I visit, although I know that's not the case of course.

I noticed that, too. I was feeling lonely before.

I tried posting around 22 hours last night and had the same problems reported. It seems much more stable with posting and reading threads, but it sounds like it's not quite all back together yet.
