Hate the new trending threads page. So I got a new laptop at work today so at first I thought I had stumbled upon a page that had already existed but never seen since I usually go directly to the forums I frequent, but no. Terrible. of the 25 threads, only 1 or 2 are of interest. I'm off to try to find the opt out instructions, or hope Chrome re-learns my most frequent destinations so I can avoid this awful page.
Helpful input: if the overlords are insistent on keeping this page, make the thread title column a lot narrower and make the forum directory wider, maybe so we can actually see a description of the forums. So much dead space on the page as it is.

Terrible, and forcing it as a default option with no warning is also very poor
Why replace the standard forum view with this? Have it as a separate page for those who may want this.
Worse than the 'infinite scroll' forced change.

May IB please not have any unwelcome feature force upon FTers?
I doubt passionate/savvy FTers visit FT for your so-called "(un)trending" threads.
NO, sadly there's no way to keep them and satisfy my forum directory requirements, except to make any new introduction an opt-in feature so users can decide for themselves if they want what IB wants.
Another change where we have to opt-out. And another that was not among what members asked for in the poll last yearReally? I am yet to be convinced.

also disabled it because it is absolutely useless for me - there are only certain forums on ft that i frequent, so the "trending threads" page just shows me a bunch of stuff that i have zero interest in and zero want to see.
Is there a way to switch the widths of the two areas - make the forum directory the wide side and the trending threads the thin? You might interest me if you did this.

why introduce such an uncalled for change?

Where is the Dislike button when you need one?
By the way, when I check the Subscribed forums only box, only two posts show up and a whole lot of white space.
Big thumbs down!

Just for kicks, I took a look at what it looks like to somebody who might possibly be visiting FT for the very first time by using a different browser (and not being logged in).
What greeted me was absolutely nothing in the trending threads area, just blank white space under the column headings. What also struck me was that the ads on the right side of the screen were significantly wider than the forum directory on the left. Look at the screen shot below to see what I mean. Why would anyone think this is good for anyone?

I am also disabling it and I agree with virtually all of the comments/complaints above. At one point yesterday, 9 of the top 15 trending threads were from the BA forum... if I want that much info about BA issues, I go to the BA forum. If you must keep it, please switch it with the useful, time-tested and approved info that is currently buried to the left.

It's awful. It looks so outdated, something from 10+ years ago. It makes finding anything impossible. Sure, we can disable it in the options when signed in, but what about those users that read but don't always sign in? Fixing something that wasn't broken comes to mind.
