Posting a picture / image; how to add or embed an image or video in a post
HOW TO EMBED IMAGES: See tutorial information in posts 1 - 4.Not every Forum accepts the embedding of images; for those that do, please follow the FlyerTalk Rules. From the FlyerTalk Rules:
8. Posting of Images link to this rule.
You may embed non-animated images in your posts. Your images must conform to all FlyerTalk content rules, must convey relevant, on-topic information and are not allowed in signature lines or user profiles other than in the space designated in your profile for your picture. (See also, Rule 2 — User Profiles.) Please size your images large enough to get your point across but not so that they distort FlyerTalk standard column widths.

If your image fails to load, the first thing to try is clearing your browser’s cache.
NOTE: At this time, embedding animated images is not allowed (see this link to the FlyerTalk rule).
(Posts with embedded or attached videos, files or images made here as tests of how this works will routinely be deleted for systems efficiency.

I'm unaware that FT supported Adobe Portable Document Format documents as inserts. I've used JPG, GIF, PNG etc. graphics, but never tried PDF as it's a documents format.

Security token was missing? [attempt to upload overly large image]
Hi,
Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong area. Please move if I have.
When trying to upload an image using the attachments function I keep getting this message..
"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.
If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error."
Am I doing something wrong or is this a common fault for others also?
Thanks

This is what appears if you try to embed a lot of images:
IB raised the limit--it used to be something like 20 or 30 per post, but we complained a couple of years ago (IIRC) and they listened. 100 should be more than sufficient, I think.

I'm trying to imagine a post with 100 images...

Who requested thumbnail photos for ALL photos?
I see some discussion today about thumbnail photos on both the AA and Travel Photography forum. I'm specifically referring to those of us that post/link our photos from outside photo sites with full-size photos that fit within the real estate the FT screen provides. I link from Smugmug.
Are you just testing this out, or did "someone" make a decision that those of us that regularly post photos from sites hosted outside FT now have our work reduced to thumbnails?
I checked the Talk Board forum and don't see that they've requested this enhancement on behalf of users, nor do I see a discussion thread there about whether members want this feature. I hate thumbnails because it means you have to click individually on each photo to look at them one at a time. I've never posted a thumbnail photo in all the years of posting AA meal photos here.
On the AA forum it is not unusual to see 5-10 photos as part of series of meal photos on an international flight (Seoul, for instance, has three meal services, one including appetizers and dessert). If someone posts photos that are reduced to thumbnails, I'm quite worried that we'll see a reduction of sharing of photos from those that really do make a serious effort to share what I would call full-size photos.
What's going on?

If this "enhancement" is around to stay, count me as another who is not in favor of the change.

I don't have an answer to the thumbnail decision, but I did not use it when posting the meal and menu photos from my AA flights as well as the photos I posted in the "AA- Views Over the Wing [AA in flight photos]" thread.
I also prefer to see the menus and meals in a flow and since I am one of those who often posts 5-10. I agree with you and I would not click through the thumbnails.
On a separate note, I've been using Postimage.org for more than a year as I prefer it to other hosting sites. Oddly, they have had some recent technical issues where I could not even upload and today their site is offline. Not sure what is going on there.
