It took several seconds for me to type the last sentence as advertisements slows everything to a crawl. (I’m now typing in a text editor, and I’m going to cut & paste this in.) Spinning beachball and everything.

I’ve had to log in with Firefox, which is at least operable. Safari won’t even load the page properly now. That’s Safari 7.1.8 on Mac OS X 10.9.5.

I can’t stand the annoying video ads at the bottom of the page, now with soundclips talking over me.

My FlyerTalk experience is just ruined. I used to love this site. It’s now become a painful chore to visit.
So we know what ad is causing this, can you post a screen shot?

Most threads on the DL forum take an extremely long time to load on my Mac (Safari, OS 10.11.1). Threads on other forums I use (AZ, VS, Omni) are accessible as usual.
This does not happen when I use my iPad.
I suspect it could be some ads which fudge things up.

A few things I have found by experimenting. It disappears if you enable an ad blocking app which confirms it is coming from a compromised advert.

Secondly, and I have no idea why, it only appears when I view FT using cellular data (Vodafone in my case), and never when I am using wifi. This isn't country specific as write this from Germany where it has been appearing too when connected to 4G.
Also a UK user who's seen too much of the Game of War ad on UK 3G (also Vodafone) - but I also had it this week in Turkey, again on 3G.

I don't think it's dependent on the ad.

It's occurred for me for an American Express Gold Rewards 25,000 bonus points ad, and for a chlamydia (!) ad, which used a cookie to identify my home city within the ad.

I know off-topic but with everything going on in the world, people really want to play war...

I can't really post a screenshot of it, but I occasionally see a strobe effect in the scrollbars in Safari:

some ad or image, possibly encoded with the wrong dimensions, is pushing the vertical or horizontal scroll bars, and then something corrects it, etc. This happens at a rate of a few times a second, indefinitely.

For a couple of weeks, when I load the Hilton forum page for the first time each day, I almost (but not quite) always get a popover ad inviting me to join IHG Rewards Club. I thought maybe it happened for the first forum I loaded in the day, so today I changed the order, and the IHG ad still appeared when I loaded the Hilton forum. It's annoying, but at least it goes away when I reload the page.

I get this one at least once a day, if not more.

Currently seeing it on OS X 10.11.1, Safari 9.0.1, from California, USA.

I haven't seen the IGH "Unlock Priceless Surprises" for a few days now, but I was getting it every day. Interestingly, I would get it in the Hilton forum but not the IHG forum. I thought maybe it just popped up in the first forum I visited on a day, so I changed the order. The IHG stayed with the Hilton forum.

Same here. Maybe its a new way to attempt to convert Hilton customers into IHG people.

I had to post this using the mobile site. I can't load any flyertalk page this morning. The content of the page loads fine, then the disruption causes the dialog box to appear.

American Express (canada) ads, on all 12 pages that I tried to load.

As do I. Everyone will see this once a day. More, if you are not logged in, or if you clear cookies.
