We understand disruptive advertisements lessen the enjoyment of your FlyerTalk browsing experience. Please post all disruptive advertisement reports here; your full report (see above) will assist Internet Brands / FlyerTalk in handling these expeditiously. Admin / Tech attempts to respond to all reports speedily, but eliminating problem adverts may require communication with advertisements suppliers or devising technical solutions that may require time. (Internet Brands operates during customary and usual work hours on the U. S. West Coast; holidays, weekends, etc. are observed.)

To see how to include a screen shot in your post, once you have taken the screen shot follow the instructions "Inserting a photo or image from your device into a post:" in the first post in the thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/techn...mage-post.html

NOTE: Internet Brands and FlyerTalk discourage the use of software that modifies your FlyerTalk browsing experience (e.g. ad blocking software). IB / FT declines all responsibility for the use of such software and can not provide support or assistance if such software is used. As well, we remind you IB / FT can only provide FlyerTalk free to members because of the financial support of advertisers; using ad blockers denies IB / FT income that would normally pay for your free community membership and browsing experience..

Posts suggesting or discussing use of ad blocking etc. software will be summarily deleted.

Still seeing the same type of iOS hijacking ad a week later, getting a little frustrated with the lack of response despite numerous reports. I'm using Safari on a fully up-to-date iPad running iOS 10.3.1.

We are constantly monitoring this thread and reporting all screen shots to the ad-ops team here, FYI. We won't acknowledge every report, but they are indeed being handled.

It's very interesting how those rouge ads are targeted only to iOS users.

Have you guys had similar issues on other websites?
Any information will be useful.

I have seen similar only on websites of doubtful moralities: illegal downloading website, illegal streaming website, pr0n websites. Otherwise outside of those categories Flyertalk is the only website with those ads among the hundreds of sites I use.

After the relaxing time at home with wifi only (and no scam ads which capture and forward my iPhone ) I stepped out into the wild today and while walking tried to access the forum.

very first add was this:

supports my theory of targeting mobile customers even more.

It makes sense to do that as well. Wifi points are not always a good indicator of where you physically are, because their IP address can be from a place hundreds of miles away. However, your mobile data is a lot more precise.

I've seen them on travel blogs that use Boardingarea.com for hosting. Rogue ads there tend to be taken down immediately though, since the individual bloggers are inclined to go through their advertiser lists with a fine-tooth comb every time there's a report. I recognize that the process here is more laborious.

Been 'clean' for quite some time, thankfully, but got directed to one of those 'countdown to claim...' sites last night. Will screenshot if it happens again - I was too surprised that it allowed me to back out to think to do it last night.

Endless Heathrow Express Adverts

Anyone else get annoyed by the Heathrow Express adverts on here (I appreciate that this are targeted adverts by location, google search history etc and so a lot of people won't get them).

They've been told off about these types of adverts twice by the ASA now for being misleading (not saying the current one is misleading but other ones have been). The current one is out of date though!

This is from today (note the date)...

They are annoying in that the offer being advertised has lapsed, but what specifically rubs you the wrong way about them? Some ads reported here are a lot worse...

1. They appear so regularly, such that they probably fill my advert banners on FT about 75% of the time.
2. The offers elapse and they continue to advertise.
3. The are often misleading, hence they have had their knuckles wrapped by the ASA on two occasions.

I do take other issues with Heathrow Express who do also use some scrupulous sales techniques such as hiking up prices in order to offer sale prices that seam more reasonable than they actually are, but that isn't a matter of these particular adverts.
