Liz - I agree.

Sadly avek00 does not have an email address showing ..... which I might say speaks volumes about him, and his desire and willingness to be contacted off board.

However if he DOES ever get brave enough to list one, perhaps you might be good enough to pass on that thought to him? He has had a wildly successful fun bypass operation it seems to me.

Hello folks. Do you realize this particular post has more than double the amount of replies than any other in the past 10 days? Free publicity if you ask me. Bad publicity is better than no publicity. Think about it.

Actually, Avek posted his email address here quite some time ago:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum97/HTML/000744.html

It's in a thread most of the people here responded to but I can understand if you missed it.

League of Extraordinary Posters?

ScottC - gadzooks - you are RIGHT.

There it was indeed, buried in a single post from three months back, and it somehow slipped my mind. Wonder why he does not type it in his profile like the "normal" posters here do??? Now, where did I read in May that tip about taxi fares in Paris? Did you see that one??? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I must be getting Alzheimers.

So must avek00, as that same thread promises he will knock off the made-up-baloney stuff, and behave himself on the UA forum. Oh well.

Well, you manage to remember almost every other post he ever made including the link to it so I was surprised this one slipped your mind http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

As for the Parisian taxi thread, perhaps this one will help:

LEP can kick the CoE's ... any day of the week and twice on Sunday. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif

There's a lot of asses in COE. I'm not sure LEP could manage. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Ozstamps:

Let me put an end to this latest attempt to spin your opinion into some perversion of the truth.

You have failed to back up your claim that I was making up what a UA supervisor told me vis-a-vis a down on Star routings. Just because you doubt the info. doesn't make it inherently accurate. Until such time as you decide to BACK UP YOUR CLAIM with so much as comments from another UA supervisor, do NOT distort your opinion into some kind of fact.

If we got 1/100 the amount of *******s of CoE, we'd create a world shortage.

Gee, I go away for a fw days and miss all of this....

I must really agree with techgirl, my real problem with avek is that I cannot recall one post of his that I thought actually had to do with frequent flying. What are the best seats, where to go with time to kill, how to get the best deals, optimize upgrades etc. Those are the reasons I visit flyertalk. Aveks posts are all about the business of the airlines and mostly as irritating as not. One in particular, a thread on UA maintanence in which he refers to the UA Sept 11 "hull losses" was as offensive as anything I have ever read. I almost stopped reading flytalk because of it. I find I have gotten useful info from many that avek criticizes but NEVER from him. If I want an opinion of UAs business plan I will look in the WSJ or somewhere of that "ilk". If I want information on flying I will look to someone who does it. My only other comment is that I am deeply hurt that avek did not single me out as he did ozstamps. It is a little like being on the Nixon enemy list. I can only say I will endevour to do much better in the future in this regard.

I actually post considerable amounts of FFP-related info. on various forums (and especially the CO forum). But as the forums have grown from strictly FFP-based discussions to more general discourses about the airlines themselves, I comment on more than just the best way to get 500 miles in an account.
