Say what you will, but the bottom line is that Ozstamps and his ilk have proven to be the single biggest menace to FlyerTalk. I am surprised and dismayed that you, of all people, would affiliate yourself and your FT reputation with him and his antics.

The bottom line is that whether or not I am elected to the TalkBoard, I will make every effort to ensure that Oz and his ilk cease their degradation of the Community.

You just conjured that affiliation. Great attempt at lumping me in with Oz--you have learned much during your internship, apparently.

I disagree with Oz on a great many things. In fact, Oz and I have gone around on many a subject--you know this. It's clear that you have realized that it is easier to lump anyone who might disagree with the right to troll into a group and disparage them in that fashion, as it is probably easier than actually owning up to your own past behavior. However, you have yet to answer my questions, much less Oz's.

Again, it's not about me--I'm not the one running for talkboard. I'm still waiting for answers and explanations.

Do what you want if you are elected or not--I'd suggest you would be doing the Community as a whole a much bigger service by changing your own pattern of disruptive and childish behavior before worrying about anyone else's.

avek is going to make a fine member of the TalkBoard... I can't wait to see what fine productive ideas he has.

After he bans most of us from posting he will then restricts airline discussion to financial statements, technical specifications, and summer internships at airlines.

The big move, however, will come when he proposes that FlyerTalk be renamed to Airliners.net.

... but I'm getting ahead of myself here. First we have to all do our part to get him elected.

Nice to see even in my absence avek00 managed to insult and antagonise GGPillow, a UA gate agent at DEN who assisted many of us actual United FLYERS, and drove him from posting on FT. Yep, we DO need fine TB members who do that stuff - drive away the useful employees like that.

The following isn't meant to sound judgmental or anything else, I'm posting solely as an observer who hasn't casted my vote for TalkBoard yet so I've been reading some of the threads.

I've just read this thread and have the following questions:

1. What is the point of posting all of this negative information/personal slamming? You don't like avek00 or care for him, then just do NOT vote for him. Plain and simple.

2. IMO, making derogatory remarks, calling up old threads, etc. what's the point? I sometimes think that people forget there is a HUMAN on the other side of the keyboard. Again, seems like some of you have been following "avek's posts/career" closely so you know what he's like. If that is NOT the person you want to represent you, then just do NOT give him your vote. Why is there a seemingly need to "rub it in?"

I guess I'd just want to know - what is the "gain" here for all of the negative remarks and why can't some of this be done via private email if you feel so strongly?
Sorry, I just don't get this at all. This board is supposed to be a fun board and a community. . .seems as if this thread doesn't display that at all.

Let's hope that new members of the community don't read this thread and think it's indicative of how the rest of FT is.
