There's me carefully saving my 2,000th post for my ten year anniversary next month and 'pooof' - Omni counts and I go straight to 2,027, neither passing 'Go' nor collecting £200 :(

You been an unwitting victim of collateral damage but there is always the 3,000 post anniversary to look forward to ;)

As someone who has been steadily building his post count for 9 years, I'd be pretty miffed if the opportunity to carefully select and savour my 10,000 post was taken away from me. Fortunately, my post count on OMNI was lower than I thought it was.

I'm sad I missed my 8,888th post. I love when all four numbers are the same and I'll never get to see this one :(

Yes, but you'll get to see 9,999 a bit sooner. :)

What I really dislike is the people who are padding their post counts on the TalkBoard forum while complaining that other people are padding their post counts on other forums

They counted for about a day when there was a technical glitch IIRC. They weren't supposed to count. Not much grandfathering to be done.

Sharon, he is referring to the posts in the threads, now in the Games Forum, which were made before Randy stopped counting Omni posts. Some people had several thousands such posts in these threads.

Game thread posts should NEVER be counted nor grandfathered.
