When departing SFO, you’ll have access to the Polaris lounge. It’s nothing special, but miles head of the previous lounge and has great views.

Why lounge hop in ZRH? The E Pier F lounge is the undisputed best. No point going anywhere else and wasting your time.

I would argue to hop over to the whisky bar, which is technically in SEN lounge

But on the way to the SEN Lounge Whiskey Bar you'll have to pass through the *shiver* peasant Business Lounge.
Joking aside, I did this as well to show the +1 travelling with me the Whiskey Bar. The staff will gladly guide you through the doors and back between the lounges so you don't have to go down and walk over through the terminal area.

I just took the balcony route. The barkeeper saw me walk in from outside, asked whether I came from business class lounge, I said, no, FCL, and all good.

You went by yourself?

Whenever I wanted to go to the whisky bar from the FCL they insisted on escorting me.

I don't drink, so I don't care about the whisky bar.

Frankly I just go to the lounges to overhear people talk about stuff and to glance at their computer screens. Some people really overshare in pseudo-public spaces.

Not that I asked anyone. I've been there before, knew where it is, knew I had access, so I simply popped over.

I'm like 80% sure that sort of thing would get you arrested in Switzerland so be careful.

The signs on the gates between the patios of the three lounges say clearly that you are not allowed to move between sections. So I never tried.

Yes but we don't officially acknowledge it online as it would be against our proscribed Swiss Reservdness and Politness.

Hi all, I'll be connecting in ZRH going on a Seiss flight in F (LX ticket, upgraded through eVouchers).

During the connection I'd like to meet a friend and invite him over for lunch in F Lounge. Would he be able to enter with me on a same day Eco ticket on LX? Whst about buying a fully refundable ticket and cancelling just before deptarture?

Thanks!

And just to add - booking a fully refundable ticket for lounge access and then cancelling is the kind of stuff that gets your mileage account closed and your miles forfeited on you so I'd STRONGLY recommend against that technique.

That's pretty bad advise. Regarding the lounge entry (which indeed would work out initially, but LX will possibly notice), not the lamb chops, they're good indeed.

OP is SEN - if LX catches them doing it (and it will be quite easy to do so) AND decides this was against their T&C's, they probably could make sure his M&M account (together with SEN status) is terminated. It's not like they need to provide him a good reason to do so.

PROBABLY this won't happen, but I think it's entirely reasonable to believe they'll give him a slap on the wrist (ie, an email clearly telling him not do so that again) or even ask him (or his friend..) to pay for the lounge entrance.

IIRC, a guy abusing the lounges in MUC (and only the Business lounge) had to pay 50€ per visit. Considering FCL is way above C lounge, and ZRH is way more expensive than MUC, I'd say 100€ (isn't that what SEN have to pay when they want to use the FCL - and they have lounge access already anyway) or something above it would be reasonable. And no, I don't think it would make much of a difference if it's done as a "guest" to someone, or doing it himself without a guest. Just in the later it would only be one person on the hook.

Now, given this is FT, let's give some ideas how he could do it better, or at least with less risk to getting caught.

Most obviously, buying a cheap fare and throwing it away (or flying it..) would be perfectly fine. He could always forget time in the FCL And considering a cheap fare can be had for below 100 CHF, that would be my approach. Not sure if the FCL would still be cheaper than meeting elsewhere (ok, it still would - we're in Switzerland..) - but trying to refund it after he went airside, went as guest into the FCL - I don't think it's a good idea, both for the guest as well as the inviter (especially if the inviter holds M&M status and/or intends to fly with LX/LH Group in the future..)

This said, guest could buy a ticket from another *A airline - possibly one not on good terms with LH - and do the throw away there, might give less noise. Still wouldn't suggest that.

My personal suggestion would be to buy a cheap non-refundable ticket, and fly it (or throw it away) - both options would most probably not leave any noise, the first one even less.
