Swiss asked for $72USD for seat selection. I have never taken LX PE. Would it be difficult to get out of middle or window seat during the flight, when my seatmate is sleeping?

If one doesn't want to risk long-haul throne seats being taken up prior to the time period they get freed up (basically the 24-48 hours before the flight when check-in occurs), is it recommended to pay the fee and lock in the seat of choice in advance? Or would most readers/posters in this thread (and forum) just risk seeing what's available at the time you can grab it for free? It's a debate I constantly have with my brain. :rolleyes: :D

Does anyone know why the seatmap of Swiss A220-300 in my booking shows there is no row 1 on the left handside?

Booked in Premium Economy on ZRH-JNB-ZRH over the xmas/new year.

On the return flight, LX.com doesn't bring up the seat map and ExpertFlyer says "There was an error message from the airline when trying to retrieve this seat map: PRS NOT ALLOWED THIS CLASS OR ZONE "

Does this mean it's oversold? Availability is very low in all classes, but especially F and W: F2 A0 J9 C0 D0 Z0 P0 G4 E0 N0 Y9 B0M0 U0 H0 Q0 V0 W0 S0 T0 L0 K0

Flying on LX65 in January MIA to ZRH in J. Always fly in throne seat but the last couple times it was really hard to get a decent sleep. I am 6'4 and wonder if selecting the seat in the middle like 14G or 16G would actually be better for sleeping since there is no restriction towards the aisle. Any input from tall travelers is greatly appreciated..

Flying BUD-ZRH on LX2251in J - LX map shows rows 1-9 available, 3 seats on each side of the aisle with the center seat blocked. Does this just mean that there are two seats on each side?

That's normal Eurobusiness on an A320 series plane: The same 3-3 seating as in Y but the middle seat is kept free.

So sorry but cant seem to figure out (I feel so dumb) what are the best seats when traveling as a couple in Biz Class on A330-300- LX 72 ZRH to IAD. 10D and 10G?

I prefer seats in the front C section, it is small, more private and quiet. Therefore I would suggest 5AB, 4DG, 5DG.

I assumed you travel as a couple and AB (window and isle) feels more private for one of you who can also enjoy window views.

Naturally, if both of you you care more about direct aisle access, D&G are the seats for you.

4DG would be my first choice (bulkhead cubby holes seem to be slightly bigger) and 5DG seats which are comparable.

​​​​Front C section is quiet and more intimate and it's a big advantage especially on night time flights, there is not so much traffic to the lavatories (they are in the galley behind you), only FAs going to and from the F section.
