LX just published the strategy for GVA

Geneva will also be the home base of SWISS’s first Bombardier CS300, delivery of which is expected in May. The larger CS300 offers 145 seats, 20 more than the CS100. By the end of 2018 SWISS’s Geneva-based fleet will consist solely of Bombardier C Series aircraft: one CS100 and seven CS300s. The new twinjets supersede the seven Airbus A320s that are currently stationed there. The Geneva fleet renewal is a further confirmation of SWISS’s commitment to its Geneva base and the whole of Western Switzerland.

Let's hope those planes fly on some useful routes, not just once week at 5am to some Greek beach island and similar routes.

Hopefully they won't completely abandon Geneva then. That would be a shame for us as passengers, because there are decent number of interesting destinations and some pretty amazing prices these flights. Those super low prices aren't available out of Zurich. Of course, they can't really make money on these prices (think CHF79 RT).

Well there are no 5AM flights ex-GVA. But there is a red-eye to Porto this summer with a return flight leaving there at 3AM.

LX's schedule this summer ex-GVA has lost another based aircraft and is once again full of flights scheduled at poor times. Honestly it's frustrating, you want to fly Swiss but the schedule pushes you towards easyJet.

One one side Swiss promote weekend trips to Florence, but who wants to come back at 6AM on a Sunday morning ? Or Nice which operates almost daily at 1910 (no saturday evening flight) which would make a great weekend trip, except they have scheduled the (only) Sunday flight at 830AM.

With the number of poor schedule variations we have seen ex-GVA, I firmly believe LX are doing everything they can to ensure they lose money and quit the market. Anyone with half a brain would come up with a better schedule.

Yes, the choice of schedule is very much a driver behind who I choose to fly with from Geneva. For Nice, it's definitely easyJet the next time.

Nothing would stop them from doing that now if they wanted to. They've lost enough in GVA. Planning to to base 7-8 of the new CS300 there means a lot, they'll give it one last try.

Funny how the same schedule can be perceive as gold or a disaster.
I've taken quite a few times the ZRH flight at 3am and loved it. Allowed me full days in OPO and arriving straight to work on Monday.

Is May 15th first Swiss CS300 flight confirmed? It's supposed to be GVA - LHR, but I can't find it in the schedule.

Anybody?

Per LX Press release Wroclaw launch and Nis year-round

SWISS will be further expanding its range of European services from Zurich in its 2017/18 winter schedules. Wroclaw in Poland will join the SWISS network for the first time; and service to Niš in Serbia, which was introduced this summer, will continue in the winter timetable period.

The Bordeaux times are useful, Marseille is for leisure travelers without any other constraints, retirees, etc. If the Marseille flight had similar timings to BOD (a morning flight to ZRH and a late afternoon flight to MRS) I'd be on it all the time. But like this it's useless.
