This route had dreadful flight schedule with 06:00 departures in summer and 07:40 in the winter, 3x per week. Had Swiss put the flight sometime during the middle of the day (so as to enable connections from NCE, BCN, LHR), it might have done a performed better.

Per Airline route NBO and DAR becomes a triangle routing.
SWISS from 29MAR15 is adjusting operations in East Africa, as it operates Zurich – Nairobi – Dar es Salaam – Zurich tri-angle routing, replacing current Zurich – Nairobi – Dar es Salaam operation. Service operates 5 times a week with A330-300, while 6th weekly service will be added from 09JUL15 to 24AUG15.

Ariline route with the previously discussed BIQ,ALG & DUB
Interesting part is that LX.com does not publish any GVA route news

The recent history of the ZRH-NUE seems to be:
APR13-AUG13 it was operated by a Dash 8 operated by IQ
SEP13-OCT13 E190 operated by IQ
NOV13-MAR14 Avro RJ100 operated by SWISS EUROPEAN AIR LINES (by looking at the current schedule)

ALC,YYC,GIG for S16
SWISS will be adding Alicante to its network in its 2016 summer schedules. The port city on Spain’s Costa Blanca will receive thrice-weekly service from Zurich (on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) from March onwards. Alicante lies at the heart of a key tourist region. Its airport is around ten kilometres from the city centre. The flights will be operated with Airbus A320 equipment.
The new Zurich-Alicante flights are bookable now. The flying time is around two hours and 15 minutes.
New Edelweiss destinations
There will be network innovations next spring at Edelweiss, too. SWISS’s sister carrier will be adding Calgary and Rio de Janeiro to its intercontinental network in its 2016 summer schedules.
Calgary, which is Canada’s fourth-largest city, will be served twice weekly (on Thursdays and Sundays) from Zurich from the end of May 2016. The flying time is ten hours. Rio de Janeiro will also receive twice-weekly non-stop Edelweiss service (on Mondays and Fridays) from Zurich from the end of April 2016. The flying time here is 12 hours.

ZRH-GIG-ZRH (LX8098//LX 8099) are in the LX8000-LX8499 range which are covered in the footnote of LX earnings on M&M.
Award miles only.

It's really a pity that these ZRH-GIG-ZRH (LX8098//LX 8099) flights won't earn status/etc... miles and that its a day flight on the outbound. also, their price for C is outrageous... Nevertheless, I hope the route succeeds and becomes a permanent thing, with even some more flights added, as San Gottardo said, I too have been waiting a long time for this to become a direct route!
