I doubt there is enough demand for a second daily YYZ-ZRH, that would either mean they swap with AC for better aircraft utilisation(free birds/better aircraft capacity at LX none at AC, or LX brings higher fares/margin and would be beneficial for the JV, or worst scenario (for me at least being based in YUL) they swap LX to YYZ from YUL - that wouldn't be an addition in terms of destination - similar to what they did with OS when introducing YUL-VIE (AC flies from YYZ instead of OS, and OS flies from YUL)

IAD is not necessary IMO, well served already from GVA and ZRH, with direct flights
ICN is long overdue. it seems now pretty much written in stone, which is great

Tbh I'd rather have another new more exciting destination than either Washington or Toront. I agree that ICN, however, is great! Finally F seats again!
But for the other destinations I was hoping for something like Seattle or Mexico City.

Osaka and Washington DC
Osaka 5/week and Washington daily it will be!

In my opinion Seoul and Toronto would have been a wiser choice (and would have been my preference too) but good to see swiss is finally expanding on long haul

We have already direct flights from Zurich and Geneva on United. We don’t need one more flight to DC
A real hit would have been Houston. Major UA hub and IAH is the access gate to central and South America, as well as all southern USA cities

Quite anticlimactic.
Mixed feelings about KIX, definite disappointment about IAD (many alternatives today and flight time too short to enjoy F service Eastbound).
IAH would indeed have been a great choice

As further info, LX will use A340 to KIX and A330 to IAD. The two new 777 will be used to boost existing capacities to MIA and NRT.
ICN is still on the bucket list but due to more and more constraints at ZRH further growth is very unlikely. Under current conditions they might have not bought these two new 777.

Obviously a new route is always good news, but as mentioned above you can get to IAD via BRU, FRA, MUC, VIE or directly or via GVA on UA (which btw will soon offer new decent Polaris seating: GVA from 2020, ZRH from at latest 2021). And that's not even mentioning flying over JFK, BOS, ORD, YUL, YYZ etc.
