CMB is not a new destination for WK. They will increase flights to three weekly...

Yes AC flies YYZ-ZRH daily, and it's part of the TATL JV.

I doubt there is enough demand for a second daily YYZ-ZRH, that would either mean they swap with AC for better aircraft utilisation(free birds/better aircraft capacity at LX none at AC, or LX brings higher fares/margin and would be beneficial for the JV, or worst scenario (for me at least being based in YUL) they swap LX to YYZ from YUL - that wouldn't be an addition in terms of destination - similar to what they did with OS when introducing YUL-VIE (AC flies from YYZ instead of OS, and OS flies from YUL)

Toronto is served by AC with a direct flight from ZRH but to find a seat in J is always a challenge. From GVA it is via YUL so not really attractive.. An LX flight (in addition to the existing YUL flight) would be awesome and ease somewhat the situation.
IAD is not necessary IMO, well served already from GVA and ZRH, with direct flights
ICN is long overdue. it seems now pretty much written in stone, which is great

Tbh I'd rather have another new more exciting destination than either Washington or Toront. I agree that ICN, however, is great! Finally F seats again!
But for the other destinations I was hoping for something like Seattle or Mexico City.

I guess there is still no announcement on their new long haul destinations although the two new 777 might arrive in 2019 already...

How far in advance are they usually announced? 6 months?

Osaka and Washington DC

Osaka 5/week and Washington daily it will be!

In my opinion Seoul and Toronto would have been a wiser choice (and would have been my preference too) but good to see swiss is finally expanding on long haul

Washington is so disspointing.
I mean come on, we already have a daily UA flight!

I am with you on that one.
We have already direct flights from Zurich and Geneva on United. We don’t need one more flight to DC

A real hit would have been Houston. Major UA hub and IAH is the access gate to central and South America, as well as all southern USA cities

In addition to UAs flights, IAD is also served by SN from BRU, OS from VIE plus LH from FRA (2x) and MUC.

Will SN or OS pull out again when LX starts IAD?

Quite anticlimactic.

Mixed feelings about KIX, definite disappointment about IAD (many alternatives today and flight time too short to enjoy F service Eastbound).

IAH would indeed have been a great choice

Something has to give, that’s too much capacity to IAD

You must be joking. Having one of those disgusting UA flights is like having no flight at all. Or would you equal LX Business on the A330 to United's offering? And LX First would equal... what exactly?

Very happy and excited that they added IAD!

As further info, LX will use A340 to KIX and A330 to IAD. The two new 777 will be used to boost existing capacities to MIA and NRT.

ICN is still on the bucket list but due to more and more constraints at ZRH further growth is very unlikely. Under current conditions they might have not bought these two new 777.

I'd rather have had SEA, ICN, MEX, TPE, LIM, BOG, SCL, IKA etc. instead of IAD (I know some of those are a little far fetched and wishful thinking).
Obviously a new route is always good news, but as mentioned above you can get to IAD via BRU, FRA, MUC, VIE or directly or via GVA on UA (which btw will soon offer new decent Polaris seating: GVA from 2020, ZRH from at latest 2021). And that's not even mentioning flying over JFK, BOS, ORD, YUL, YYZ etc.
