Also, a question for the Lurkers, if I may...

In the same way that you were able to officially announce that SNA expiration dates will not be extended, is there any sort of official decision not to offer a Gold/Platinum re-qualification gift? If so, it would at least stop all the conjecture and speculation here!

Appreciate you perhaps may not know, or no decision has been taken, or may not be allowed to say - but figured it was worth politely asking.

Cheers,
JK

I could've sworn they had already said "no, not to their knowledge," or something similar months ago.

The only Lurker post in this thread was in early March and it stated they did not have any information on whether there would be an elite requalification gift for 2014.

In either case, considering it was quite some time ago, and we're now 8 days away from the end of the year, I was hoping the Lurkers may have more certainty over their information. So, Lurkers? Anything you can share?

They do seem quite positively engaged with this forum, perhaps they can be given the benefit of the doubt, that if they knew, or could, they would.

We have confirmed that there is not going to be an elite renewal gift for 2014. Otherwise, please do stay tuned for 2015 and what the New Year may bring on other fronts.

Thanks for chiming in, Ryan. (altho' I wouldn't be surprised if the "on other fronts" bit has all manner of speculation and conjecture bantered about .)

How long until a 'what does on the other fronts mean' thread?

It just means look forward to what's coming in 2015 other than an elite qualification gift for 2014. Nothing less; nothing more.

The warm fuzzy feeling I get from giving Starwood my custom is gift enough for me.

It wasn't that I ever doubted they'd share what they knew - but sometimes, people don't know the answer until they've been prompted to look for it. As may have been the case here.

Thanks Ryan / Lurkers - very much appreciate the closure. I need to book a redemption for next year, and was waiting to see if there would be some kind of discount again. But now I can just go ahead.

Platinum "Thank You" this year?

Has anyone heard if we are getting the yearly "Thank You" gift from SPG? It was 35% off a single award booking or double points last year.

Thanks

J
