Wow guys, that's a lot of negativity. Would you prefer that they not offer bonus points?

Thank you Christina. I needed to make a decision for my upcoming stay in NYC but I couldn't wait for someone to reply here. So, I went ahead and called SPG to check if I had signed-up for the promo. It turns out I didn't sign-up. Bummer

I will stay with you guys anyways

Cheers!

Provided the hotel is participating and all other conditions of the offer are met, if you stay the night of December 15th, it falls within the promotion dates, so yes.

Btw, does Air Canada "9,000 more reason to stay" promo has the same non participating hotel list? Thx
I got the Aeroplan bonus before the 2500 starpoints. That was because I stayed at a non-participating hotel.
So it seems that there is no non-participating hotel for the Aeroplan promo...

I don't think points bookings count. I had a C&P booking and it did not count.

Any chance or SOL ?

Totally my fault and no excuses but for some reason I just thought this promo was until the end of December but just realized it ends on December 15. I was going for the bonus 10,000 Starpoints!!

I will have 18 nights before December 15 then actually had another 7 nights booked beginning on the 20th but then looked and said DOH!!!!

Any past experience with this if I called SPG Plat desk? If I catch them on a nice day. I am Plat if that matters. I would have adjusted my travel but made a mistake.

At the end of the day it's my fault but was curious if a call would make any difference and showing my reservations starting on the 20th. Unfortunately I can't change those plans now?

Anyway.......thought I would ask.

Nope, they are not going to bend the rules for anyone. If they did, they would open floodgates to many more people wanting an 'exemption'

Fair enough............I think I had to ask myself that same question after I actually sent it.

But hey - it can't be the worst question ever asked on FT

Now that this promo is over, who else felt that the T+C for this promo were sloppily worded? In particular, I'm referring to paragraph 2b., 10000 Starpoints Bonus. It seems to me that it lacks the specific qualifying language to indicate that "eligible night" is: 1. a night that meets the definition of "eligible night"; and 2. a night that is at a participating property.

Discuss.
