SNAs w/Your24

What are the posted rules with respect to an SNA clearing on a reservation with an existing Your24 request?

Just forfeited a suite at the PDG in Paris - I was approved for a 12pm Y24, they told me the suite wouldn't be ready til 3pm. If that Plat (they told me) had done a late check-out, it arguably might not have been ready til 5 or 6.

Hotel rep advised me that once my SNA clears, I should re-submit a Y24 request...first time I'd heard of that.

TIA.

Using Your24 with a Suite Night Award: If Your24™ is confirmed, it is confirmed for the guaranteed room on the reservation at the time the request is made. If there is a pending Suite Night Award when Your24 is requested, a confirmed Suite Night Award upgrade will require a Your24™ request to be resubmitted.

9.4.c. Your24 (75 Eligible Nights).... v. If the specific room type reserved by an eligible SPG Member is not available upon check-in, the SPG Participating Hotel will honor the confirmed Your24 request by temporarily providing another room and then moving the applicable guests to the reserved room type once available.

Does anyone know the protocol as to what happens if the room type I request for a SNA is no longer offered as a SNA-able room type by the hotel? Is my request "grandfathered" in or am I now subject to the new (post-reservation) category restrictions that the hotel has in place.

Just to be clear, let's say for example that I book a "deluxe" room and available SNA options are:
-junior suite
-1 bedroom suite

New bookings for this hotel are only offered the option to use SNA for:
-junior suite

Am I still waitlisted for the 1 bedroom suite?

Applied an SNA to one stay successfully, followed by an unsuccessful generic error message for another property. Opened up online chat and the issue was solved in 3 minutes ^^^

BRG and SNA

I have a BRG reservation which doesn't allow SNA. I called and Platinum agent stated the same. I recall there is a thread with a resolution. Anyone remembers it?

Doing a search of this thread for "BRG" brings up several hits. Post1823 appears to be the most definitive, but not sure if it still works. Worth a try.

Then the only thing I can think of is to try a different agent to see if they know how to do it, or send a PM to the Lurkers to get their attention.

There still seems to many quirks with trying to burn SNAs and personal attention is needed.

Good luck.

question about requesting SNA

I just tried to request a SNA upgrade for a hotel I am checking into three days from now. I was told that I could not make the request because no suites are available (this is a hotel that never lists its available suites for online booking. It does have six suites in the hotel.).

Shouldn't I be able to make the request now and then if a suite does open up I could at least have a chance?

IME, even if the suite is not available yet, you should be able to request. That is as long as the hotel have it in their SNA pool.

Thank you! Yes, I would agree. Hoping a Lurker will come along and help.

My apologies for any inconvenience, but this has been reported to the appropriate team for follow up. Unfortunately, with the time remaining, we can't be sure it will get resolved before the stay begins.
