I would imagine so as the points wont post until after you have stayed.

By the way, thanks for the promo SPG! ^

8 nights H/B at the Le Meridien in Limassol in March.

I might treat Mrs P to an overpriced spa treatment since it's 7 pts per $

My bad, I read the NON-participating list as a participating list....I mean seriously! I cannot believe how many hotels are NOT participating.

Not one single hotel in Australia and pretty much nothing in the rest of Asia Pacific

I will hit the USA in April but of course it ends on the 8th, and I guess there is not going to be anything for the rest of that month.

I am sure it will work for some, but I am not thrilled at all.

IMHO it was very clear from the beginning that Asia Pacific was not participating for this promotion.

This promotion excludes the Asia Pacific region that has their own "Two days of happy" promotion.

This is really going to help me make the decision to stay at Hyatt or Hilton in Q1. SPG really doesn't seem to want loyalty from guests in Australia it seems...

Promo doesn't work for me, but I love the BRG promo that runs 365 days per year! ^ So I'm sticking with SPG in spite of having acquired Hyatt Diamond status (through Megado last year), Fairmont Plat (through AC SE promo), Priority Club Platinum (because it's easy to get) and Accor Platinum (through another promo).

Are you talking about the Two Days of Happy FB contest?

https://www.facebook.com/SPG?sk=app_228349320573836
(vote for me! vote for me! )

Or is there a promotion as well?

The FB contest is only open for residents of certain countries.

Not to be confused with http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...n-2-fwn-2.html

Out of interest what would be a hotel's reasoning for not participating in a double and triple points offer? I presume it would be down to the individual property. I also presume that each property somehow pays for the starpoints and I also presume that the starpoints cost peanuts, 1¢ each or something.

I don't know what % of Property guests are SPG AND would have signed up for the promo but in the big scheme of things, I cannot imagine that participating costs so much.

Have I got it completely wrong? Is there another reason for non-participation?

The question is whether they get enough incremental revenue that wouldn't have happened otherwise to compensate for the points given (and paid by the property) to SPG members who would have stayed there regardless.

If that's their logic then from the bad sentiment in this thread they seem to have failed to add goodwill into the mix.

What the hell Starwood ?????

I am really pest off by this promo... none of the hotels I have booked for the next four months are participating... what the hell ?????????
William, you need to relate to the people that put that promo together that it is absolutely worthless and that they better come up with some kind of alternative otherwise Starwood is going to lose a lot of business this quarter... mine at least.

Why would I need to do that? You seem to have done a pretty good job of relating it to them without my participation.
