if this is true...which it looks like it is....

One of the absolute all time worse Q1 promotions! Just look at the list of non-participating hotels. Pretty much count out all of Asia; especially Japan, Korea and Thailand. Wow. Very disappointing.

Why forsake Asia again?

Starwood seems to be pushing their customers in Asia into the waiting arms of Shangri-La and Marriott. This is the 2nd consecutive promotion with little or no participation from China and other East Asia hotels...

Yes, but I don't think that it's a question of all the properties in Asia independently deciding to opt out. I believe that Asia was excluded by design. Certainly there are a few properties in Bangkok with very low occupancy (recovering from the floods) which would love the extra business right now.
