Does not seem related to previous problems, but this aircraft does not need any bad news.
A United max-8 taking off from Laguardia lost the use of 1 engine and made an emergency landing at Newark.

Saw WN 738-M's operating at DAL on Saturday. For me, these planes have now passed the test and I would have no issues flying on one.

They are my favorite. Lots of empty seats intra-California and plenty of legroom. The only thing better was the pre-Evolve seats. But for my $29 I'm not complaining.

Tuesday flew on a 737-MAX, flight 4863, from SEA to DAL to get home, the flight continued on to MDW. I had no issues flying on it but did not mention what it was to my wife who does not like flying on any airplane and might have had issues with it.

Looks like I'm getting my first ride on a MAX tomorrow. WN just swapped our PNS-DAL (2234) from a 738 to a 73M.

I like 22 or 26, two windows (one for shoulder space and one for looking). 22 is close to the sweet spot of not having anyone in the middle also (people either go up front or to the back looking for something)

This is spot on. I was in 22A with my fiance in 22C on Saturday on what was announced as a "completely full flight" and 22B went out empty.

FWIW I flew 73M on Sunday OAK-LAX. First time on any aircraft in 18 months. I was in the back (20-22) and ended up with an empty middle. Have to say the seats felt comfortable and the legroom was completely adequate, and I’m 6’1”. If this is the future, I’m ok with it (minus the operational meltdown).
