Thanks Matt. I placed the reservation last week, and the voucher turned up in the post at the weekend.

I'm using the BMW Frankfurter Ring office this time in Munich, since it came up cheaper. Would I be right in guessing that they would have a bigger than normal BMW pool of cars? :D

Hi Syme, Generally it depends on the current fleet on the day. I have spoken with the branch manager and she will do her best for you. Hope this helps, Matt

When will MIA get an express lane or the ability to use my code from my Passbook to retrieve my car? I rent about every other week and it's a crapshoot on how quickly I can be on the road.

My wait today was pretty bad - for the trouble I did get an upgrade and the gentleman was very helpful but could only tell me that express service was coming "soon".

Hi KatJ, We are currently implementing the system and hope to have it active in all branches in the US within a few months. I hope this helps, Matt

Golf is indeed a CTMR. Which branch was this in?

Yes that's right. When I arrived the branch they say the only model they can give me is a golf carbio, which is located in a parking lot 10 minutes away (drive, not walking distance ) from the branch , giesing , if I remember correctly. No one go through the scratches and damages with me when I got there and all I received from the rep was, all the damages are reported in the receipt they gave me before moving to the parking lot.
Can't believe this is my first rental

Sixt (UK) and Miles & More

Please can someone clarify exactly what the benefits are of a SEN card holder when renting a Sixt car (specifically in in the UK). I was under the impression that as a SEN card holder upgrades where offered if available. My recent experiences have been that when hiring at Sixt in the UK the staff generally have no idea about this relationship, indeed for the second time this year at Stansted I have been informed that their is no partnership, although they informed there had been some special offer with LH that did not cover Stansted. Often in the UK Sixt are more expensive others so the benefits of the SEN card being achieved are important when making the choice of rental company. Someone is miss informed, is it me or is it Sixt UK, clarification would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

As Lufthansa Senator you qualify for a Sixt Platinum Express Card, as such an upgrade subject to availability for the first 12 months and also the Platinum discount up to 15%

Do you have a Platinum card. Please don't write the number here in the forum but rather only confirm.

Best regards, Gary

Hello Gary

No I do not have one, I have a standard express card that I have been using. I have not been informed that I could/should have a Platinum card either by Miles and More or by Sixt when I have presented my SEN card. This is disappointing as I have received no upgrades or discounts this year. All very confusing.

regards
Ashley

I've booked a car (LSMR) for little over two weeks (late july, almost mid august), platinum card, frankfurter ring.

Any experience with this car group from that branch ? what's the normal engine size etc ?

Really hoping for an upgrade though

Any chances of finding out what it will cost for an upgrade to an M3 or 6 series BMW ?

Hello,

I have a question about the deposit (again, I know, I checked the previous posts but did not find the answer).

I would like to rent a car for 1 month in the UK (approx. £1000). I will pay with a UK debit card (a regular debit card, I already rented cars with it in the UK and Europe with Europcar and Budget).

The conditions says: "Before a vehicle is hired, we always obtain an approval of the amount of the rental cost plus a GBP 250 deposit for debit cards..."

So, in addition of the £1000 rental that I will pay at the counter, will the deposit be £250 or £1250?

In other words, will Sixt ask to my bank for £1250 (1000+250) or £2250 (1000+1250)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi JeanC,

For Visa debit cards in the UK the deposit is £250. If your rental cost is expected to be £1000, we will subtract £1250 at the start of your hire and then refund £250 at the end. I hope this helps, Matt

I have a booking with them in two weeks, I'll let you know how it goes.

LSMR, according to a German site, contains:
BMW 318i Coupé
BMW 320d Coupé
BMW 320i Coupé
BMW 325d Coupé
BMW 325i Coupé
BMW 330d Coupé
BMW 330i Coupé
BMW 335d Coupé
BMW 335i Coupé
MB C 180 CGI Coupé
MB C 220 CDI Coupé
MB E 200 CGI Coupé
MB E 250 CDI Coupé
MB E 250 CGI Coupé

You have a higher chance of a BMW at that station, what with it being a BMW dealer.

Is there a list someplace of what companies/programs Sixt will status match? I've been pricing out some rentals in Europe and Sixt is attractive but I'd like to check what status I'll have before I stop using Hertz.

Thank you very much Matthew for that clear answer! It was very helpful.

Want to add an extra day to a booking in MCO but the price shoots up dramatically. It now seems better to cancel and book with a competitor than add the extra day. Can anyone help here?
