Hi WW88WW,

Please could you send Gary an e-mail again to identify yourself as we do not use our real names, with the exception of a few of us. Sometimes it is difficult to locate and check the email.

Many thanks

Matthew

Hi Gary

I have a question about a recent rental, rather than clog this forum, I have sent an email.

Thanks for your attention and service here.

Hi Chris,

Please can you private message me with your Sixt Express card number and I will look into your query as a priority.

I look forward to your reply

Matthew

I am having difficulty with the Sixt website.

Yesterday before I registered, I checked on rentals for an upcoming trip to Germany and received very competitive quotes (on a BMW Cabrio convertible, pickup at Munich Central Train Station, drop off at Berlin Mitte Leipzigstrasse, Aug 23-27).

Now that I have registered and logged in to the site, I get rate quotes that are almost double (yes, double!!) what they were before I registered. Does anyone else have this problem? Or Gary, could you shed some light on the difference in rates before and after Sixt registration?

I've never rented from Sixt before, but they have been recommended highly to me by many people.

Hello Valery,

This is not a problem and I can provide you with the relevant information. Please private message me with your reservation number and I will check it out. Also just for your info I can place a request on your reservation for your preference of vehicle if you let me know.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Matthew

Matthew, while your at it would you be able to check availabilty on Mercedes CL at FRA? Have actually booked a Porsche for 3 days through Avis mid-july but would be happy to keep my rentals with Sixt.

Thanks

Hi,
I have checked with the branch and they advised that they have Merc CL available for this date. If you place your booking and private message Matthew the reservation number as I am not in the office next week until Wednesday. He then will be able also to put notes on the system to ensure that the Merc CL will be supplied.

Best Regards
Sabine

Have messaged Gary before, but I understand that he's busy, so perhaps someone else could help me out. Have two questions: 1. would Sixt be able to match Hertz' quote on a one-way rental in Italy (the rates aren't too far apart to make it impractical) and 2. have a standing reservation for a VW GTI in FRA and was wondering what I could realistically hope to get. Thanks!

Hi highlanderfil,

My name is Marie and I am part of the UK Customer Service Team.

Please can you private message me or e-mail me directly at [email protected] with the details for your rental in Italy and the quote you have provided by Hertz and I would be happy to look into this for you.
Please can you also provide me with your reservation number that you have made in FRA and I can check the fleet for you within the vehicle category reserved.

Kind Regards,
Marie

Long waiting times for reserved cars

I don't know if it is location specific or a general issue now, but the Sixt station in Regensburg/Germany seems to have problems with the availability since a few weeks.
It happened to me three times during my recent rentals. All cars reserved as compact CLMR with no extras, 24h rental, back to the same station, frequent renter (Platinum). Cars have been reserved for 07:00, but when I show up there are no cars available. Had to wait 30-45 minutes until I got one.
This is pretty annoying, since I have to go on business trips and have fixed meeting times.
Furthermore you have to question the benefit of the Sixt email service that tells you two days before your rental that "your car is being prepared right now".
I have been pretty satisfied with Sixt the last 15 years, but will be forced to look for alternatives if this keeps going on - I have to get to my meetings in time. :(

Great to hear from you.

Platinum status is our top status. Only Diamond is higher and this is achieved by invitation only.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you for your honest and useful insight which I will feed this back to our Quality Management in Germany and the branch. Sorry for your inconvenience, I personally was not aware of the issue.

In the meantime, e-mail me with your reservation number a day or two before your rental. I'll make sure you get off to a good start.

il re-phrase the question, within the Platinum status is there a way of achieving different loyalty Programme - ie, if i rent 20 rentals a year i can move to loyalty program 2 and cheaper rates?

sixtisbest Jul 12, 2012 2:49 pm

Hi Gary,

I recently signed up for Sixt and looks like i messed up my application form. I sent you a PM with the details.

Can you please take a look? I would like to make a booking once this is fixed.

Thanks
