Vauxhall Meriva available in France?

Last year in Edinburgh we rented, through Sixt, a Vauxhall Meriva. Especially liked the interesting 2nd row doors. We hope to have a 15 day rent in France this October(either CDG or GVA) and would like a small 4 door. If we rented the Polo class, is that guaranteed a 4 door? If not, what class would that be? Are there Merivas in France?
Is it possible to start the rental at CDG then return to GVA?
I checked Sixt.com last nite, it is possible to rent at CDG and return to GVA.

Hi, I recently booked a BMW 1 series (ILMR) from London Heathrow for September 7th - 18th. It turns out I need to return the car a day early but when I tried to change my reservation online it would not allow me to select a 1 series again. Can I change my reservation when I arrive to return the car a day early?

Also what are the chances I will actually get this vehicle? I would prefer a diesel car with a manual.

Thanks

Sixt hat Merc R350CDI 4matic.

Chances are extremly low, but not impossible.

in LWAR is basically no Mercedes E-Class

LWAR is most likely Audi A6 3.0TDI with 204 or 245HP or an BMW 525, 530, rarely 535

Lots of problems renting from sixt in Iceland

Hi,

Can Gary or someone else please put me in touch with Sixt corporate?

I am currently in Iceland on vacation, we rented a car from the Sixt office in Keflavik and we have had nothing but problems since the moment we initially booked the car online back in July.

We have had a terrible experience with the company and we've had to take a fair bit of time out of our vacation as the car provided was unsafe and poorly equipped - today we had to get all the tires replaced!

Please PM me so we can get in touch.

Could someone please elaborate

Rate includes all mls
Base Excess Waiver
Energy Surcharge
Loss Damage Waiver
SLI
Veh License Fee
Loss Damage Waiver with an excess of USD 0.00
Theft Protection with an excess of USD 0.00
All designated discounts have been included in the stated final price.

Hi,
Could someone please elaborate on what all my car rental covers. The above is what I got with my 14 day car rental with Sixt from MCO. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to understanding car rental insurance policy's.
Also is there any insurance above what is already on offer that is advisable to take and how much will it cost me for my whole rental period.
Thank's.

I kept the reservation and there wasn't an issue about mileage.
They offered upgrade to a convertible for a small fee. I couldn't pass it up.
Got a VW EOS and loved it! Loved the ride down to see my first grandchild!
Our big oops was leaving the camera in the center console. We called the next day but it wasn't found & car already rented. Maria with customer service was very helpful. Even sending a message to the current renter for us. Since our pictures are gone, I'll just have to make another trip! lol

Hi Gary,
I'm getting ready to rent a car for 6 days in Ireland. I have a World MC that will take care of the CDW/LDW. Are there any optional coverages you would recommend I take, such as Glass & Tire coverage?

There will 3 adults & two of us are ~6' tall. Will a Ford Focus work for us? Probably will have 3 or 4 suitcases (21"-22" rollers).

I also noticed that on the very last page a fee was added for "Taxes" of $46. Is this an airport facility tax? The total, with taxes, is $377 (6 days for a Ford Focus with AT). Holiday Autos is about $40 less. Tell me why I should rent from Sixt. :)

Thanks!

UPDATE: I just found a VW Golf (CDAR) for a total of $330. Is that about the same size as a Focus? I appreciate your help!! :)

For peace of mind you may wish to take an excess waiver to reduce your liability in case of damage. So why should you rent with Sixt....we may not always be the best on price...although we would like that too... we are always committed to providing the best service. You can be sure that if you needed any help during or after the hire that I would take care of it on a personal level.

To chime in here, I did that booking (ECMR for two days starting May 14), at sixt.de, using MUC as the rental location, and I see €100.12 with the platinum discount, and €111.32 without. So, 10% off.

Dear cestmoi123 / Sixtisbest

I am checking this topic with pricing, I will be in touch soon.

Vehicle group EDMR is 5 Door - Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Seat Ibiza, Citroen C3 or other.

The group for a Meriva is CDMR - Peugeot 308
oder e.g. Renault Mégane, Seat Leon, Ford Focus or other
Limousine (CDMR)

I have just spoken with the CDG branch and they have Meriva......if you do book send me a private message with the Reservation number and I will improve your chances to receive your preferred vehicle.

You look pretty well covers with the zero excess on LD and TP: Here is the Insurance Information:

General Insurance Conditions

Liability coverage/Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)
Liability coverage is limited to the minimum financial responsibility required by state law.
If purchased Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) protects you against claims made by a third party for -bodily injury- and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while you are operating a -rental vehicle-.
This coverage supplies Renter with third-party liability protection up to a limit of USD 1.000.000 per accident.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a -rental vehicle-. SLI does not cover all risks. There may be exclusions for unauthorized or intoxicated drivers, no first party uninsured motorist coverage, no coverage for certain passengers in the Vehicle, and other exclusions.
For further details see the jacket of our rental agreement and find a complete copy of the Supplemental Liability Excess Policy available for your review from your rental agent.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.
If LDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If LDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts of USD 300.00 for all car groups.
For further details please see the jacket of the rental agreement.

Super Top Cover LDW
If LDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Super Top Cover LDW to reduce/eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
If Super Top Cover LDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: USD 0.-.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
By purchasing Personal Accident Insurance coverage can also be extended to cover -bodily injury- of the occupants of the rental vehicle.
PAI does not cover all risks. There may be exclusions.
For further details see the jacket of our rental agreement and find a complete copy of the Personal Accident Insurance Policy available for your review from your rental agent.

Late for pickup

Hi Gary, much appreciate your informative reply to my earlier query.
Just another question. If I am unable to make it to pick up my vehicle at the pre booked time and arrive later the same day, if I inform Sixt well in advance will they still hold the reservation for me?
I tried modifying my pick up time from my bookings but the rate for the car sky rockets and now I'm a worried traveller.

Thanks Gary. I just reread your post. Since the Meriva is a 5 door, just curious why it would not be in the EDMR group?

Gary,
Your site does not offer any "excess waiver" ins. if I reject the LDW/CDW. Right?

As I mentioned above I am going to reject the LDW/CDW because my World MC will cover this for me.
